After a horrible accident that claimed the lives of her family, 16-year-old Ever Bloom starts seeing other people's auras, hearing their thoughts and knwoing someone's entire life by touching them.  Going out of her way to avoid human contact and suppress these abilities, she has been branded a freak at her new high school.  Everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste.  Damen is a gorgeous, exotic, and wealthy young man.  He is the only one who can silence the noise and ramdon energy in Ever's head.  He wields a magic so intense, it is as though he can peer right into her soul.  As Ever draws deeper into his enticing world of secrets and mystery, she is left with more questions than answers and again feels lost.

I really liked this book and I plan on reading the entire series.  I liked Ever a lot and I hope her character stays consistent throughout the series (unlike Bella in Twilight who got weaker and more codependent).  I'm not really attracted to Damen but I don't dislike him either.  I'm just sort of "meh" about him.  I couldn't really feel the spark between him and Ever.  I hope his character gets fleshed out more in the other books.  I would like to know more about his "bad boy" past and how Ever was able to influence him so much.  Ever's story and how she was dealing with her abilities were the main draw for me.  This could be called a Twilight rip-off but I thought it was original enough and had some unique aspects to it.  The writing was better too.

At first, I thought the Immortal series had something to do with vampires so I was so psyched to read it because everyone knows that vampires are in right now. Unfortunately, it wasn't about vampires. Evermore is about something far more precious and unique than vampires so I wasn't overly disappointed. In fact, I was pretty glad got a copy.

What I loved about Evermore was the plot. I loved how Alyson created something completely different than the norm: the Immortals. Unlike today's popular supernatural stuff like werewolves, vampires, zombies and ghosts, Alyson creates a whole new category and that makes me extremely excited. :)

What I didn't like about Evermore were the not too few loose ends. It seemed like the Immortals weren't really descibed and I wish that there were more information about the Immortals like their speed, how they came to be, etc. The only real info that I got about the Immortals were 1) extremely fast 2) create dreams 3) immortal (duh!) 4) they can be killed and 5) have magic. Besides that, there weren't too many details. Are there other Immortals? If there's Immortals, are there other "supernatural" out there as well?]

The characters, Ever and Damen, were pretty well developed. Their relationship, though, is kind of shaky. It was founded on secrets, mysteries and hidden pasts so I'm not surprised if their relationship does end up in a moot - but I hope not though. :)

Overall, Evermore has a new paranormal being and so I encourage everyone to grab a copy and find out more about the Immortals!

Evermore is a book about a girl named Ever. One day her and her family get into an accident and sadly her parents, little sister and their pet dog died. Ever since the accident she's had an awful lot of weird things happen to her. After the accident she woke up in the hospital awfully beaten up and she happens to see her dead little sister, and she can also read peoples minds and see their moods, something called an 'Aura', it's just about the most bogus thing. She also moved to California with her rich lawyer Aunt Sabine and she drives a convertible and is the freak of her new school since she is closed up wearing just about anything there is to avoid contact with people and is about to go deaf since she blasts her iPod to avoid hearing peoples thoughts. Until one day Damen comes along and suddenly the chaos in her head stops whenever he talks or touches her, but there's more to Damen than meets the eyes and it's a pretty good view since he's totally georgous. Ever just has to find out.

Well after that pretty long summary all I have to say is that this book is pretty Amazing! Well if you like fantasy kind of books and like me if your wanting to move away from the vampire love stories(which i love don't get me wrong) this is an Immortal love story. It's pretty good, and it's not very challenging it's an easy read, and well I'm telling you i could not put the book down. So go buy it or get it from the library. The book is called Evermore by Alyson Noel!

I expected a lot while reading Evermore because everyone was REALLY excited. And I will admit that I was a little disapointed. I got tired of Ever blaming herself for her family's death. It's obvious that it wasn't but she still wallows in self pity. Oh and why was she always against Ava. She was just trying to help her. But god forbid someone is nice to Ever. Beside those minor flaws Evermore was fantastic. Oh and if this book ever said anyone was a vampire I was gonna punch them in their fictional face. I was expecting something different, thankfully this wasn't needed. The whole idea that Ever had these great mind reading powers that annoyed her was interesting. I would have loved those powers but Ever was different. But of course Damen is the only person that could penetrate her tough exterior. Thanks Damen for making Ever fall head over heels. Am I the only one that gets annoyed at books with boys that are all a girl thinks about? I got over that though and the ending was very well crafted and I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

Vampire fever is catching fast in the writing world, so when I first glanced over the beginnings of this book, I was expecting another Twilight. Alyson Noel did not disappoint me however, and soon enough I found myself lost in the world of the immortals. Ever, a lonesome, depressed, psychic teenager tries to cope with the loss of her family and the gaining of strange powers when a suddenly heart stopping boy is dropped into her life. Without a fight she falls in love, but feels compelled at first to pull away. Damen, the dark haired heart breaking teen just moved to her school drives all the girls crazy, including her enemy Stacia, and best friend, Haven. But Damen has a few secrets of his own hes keeping, and the more Ever finds out, the darker the tale turns. In an instant, I was caught up in the immortals world spun by Alyson Noel, and the entrancing romance thats lasted centuries between Damen and Ever. Evermore is a novel worth much more praise than can be put into words, and the series altogether is a wonder of fantasy.

Ever is a girl who's not normal. She can hear people's thoughts, speak to ghosts, see auras, and read people's entire life stories. Oh, and she's already died before, along with the rest of her family. Which was her fault.

Now comes in a gorgeous, sexy, mysterious guy who can do just about everything and has been just about everywhere. And Ever has the feeling she's met him before. One touch of his silences everybody else's thoughts and sends tingles and warmth all over her. Nobody else can do that.

While Damen is part of her school life, at home, Ever lives with her rich lawyer aunt and is visited by her dead sister, Riley. Riley died at thirteen and is now back to live her life through Ever. It's tragic, but sometimes I couldn't understand how Ever enjoyed Riley's presence so much if all they seemed to do was argue or if Ever complained about her sister's clothes which were hers.

Fans of Twilight will definitely enjoy this one. This book was well written, and the characters were relatable. Every story needs a goth (Haven) and a popular, mean girl (Stacia). Plus the sarcastic best friend, who in this case, is also gay (Miles). Noel's writing style is skilled with its descriptive scenes and vivid pictures and I enjoyed how Ever narrated the story. Her slight stalker-ish behavior was a little old, but she was funny and seemed like someone who could be my best friend. There were some cliches and just some plot lines that seemed "same old, same old." Still, this was a fast read that I loved and left me wanting more, so I checked out Blue Moon the next day and finished it!

The beginning of this book did start out like the typical book with her family dying in a tragic car accident, however, I thought that her being able to see her sister was a nice little twist. Books these days revolve around teenage girls and vampires (don't get me wrong, I like them), but this book took a different twist with the whole "immortals" thing. It was refreshing.
It kind of aggravated me because of all the suspense with Damen, though. I really thought that he was going to turn out as a vampire, though. So it was well worth it.

I can't wait to read the next book.
