Fans of Thomas the Tank Engine should give Baldwin’s Big Christmas Delivery a chance. Baldwin finds a present on the tracks with the ambiguous message that it is to Someone Special. With determination and high morals, Baldwin goes above and beyond to try and find the owner. Children in this target age range also want to be helpful, and this story would appeal to their sense of right and wrong. The illustrations are bubbly and cheerful and the heartwarming conclusion makes this a good read for the Preschooler in your life. The one drawback is the content appeals to younger children while the amount of text per page is better for older children. It could be hard for some children to sit and focus while waiting for the next page turn. Overall, if trains are of interest to your readers this is a great book for them.
