Hedgehog is building a new house…right in the middle of the road! Even though his neighbors say he is in the way, Hedgehog doesn’t want to move. But when Hedgehog needs help, the kindness of his friends helps him realize that the best house for Hedgehog is also one that considers his community.

The story is told in rhyming verse and is brought to life with bold, colorful illustrations. The small amount of text on each page makes for an easy read, while also clearly communicating the story’s lesson. Hedgehog’s prickly tale is inspired by a story in the Talmud, and curious readers will find more context in the detailed author’s note.

A great read for lovers of hedgehogs and simple stories with heart.
