I love YA historicals. I'm also a huge fan of anything Titanic related. I was excited to receive a copy of this book to review. Fateful is thrilling and each page captivates you into wanting to find out what happens to our heroine and the man she loves. The writing swepts you away with language that is authetic to the time period. You'd think the idea of adding werewolves might be a tad bit too much but I loved this feature.

Tess is very believable as a maid of a British family of noble birth. The author did her research as all the little details such as servants having to crack water in their bowls in the morning to being punished for slight indiscertions ring true and give added dept to this tale.

The romance worked for me. I also loved how Tess, though a servant, had desires to do more with her life. I could also see her fascination with Alec, a very handsome American, with a dangerous secret. There's also suspense and intrigue with the powerful Brotherhood who'll do anything, including kill people, in order to have Alec under their control.

Romantic and gripping, this story will swept you along with both Tess and Alec as they confront their demons and also their own fate on the doomed Titanic. Unlike that infamous ship, this story will stay with you.
Good Points
1. Whole Titanic backdrop
2. Authetic feel
3. Likeable characters
4. Paranormal element that works

This was a really great historical romance with some paranormal thrown in. I am fascinated by anything to do with the Titanic, so I knew I would enjoy this book. I only wish Jack and Rose would have made a cameo! While the historical fiction elements were great, I kind of thought the paranormal aspects were just ok. I wanted a little more action. Despite that, this was a very enjoyable read!

I loved this book so much. I was in Dubai and found it in the Borders bookshop. When I saw it I was deciding whether or not it was going to be good. I made a guess and bought it. Turns out, I guessed right. From the minute I opened this book, I couldn't put it down. I was drawn to the characters, especially Alec. He was so mysterious. If I didn't know the book was about werewolves I would of been so surprised to find out he was one.

I hated Mikhail. He was so mean to Alec and creepy towards Tess. Following her around and trying to murder her. How mean!! I loved Tess, she was so determined to make a new start in America. She made one all right. With a werewolf!! She has a strong personality that I was drawn to. She is a person I would like to be like.

I recommend this book to all fantasy lovers and titanic ones as well. So many stories can be just about one thing. this book is a awesome read for all.

Set with a backdrop of the RMS Titanic, I knew that this would be a mesmerizing read. I've always had a keen interest in the history of the Titanic, and seeing that with an added paranormal element made it so much more enticing.

Tess is a ladies maid for a wealthy British family, the Lisles. This book was completely in her perspective and it was refreshing and surprising to experience what the thoughts are of the servants. In movies, TV shows, and books, the help is usually portrayed in the background or as bleak and unimportant. Hearing what its like to be in the head of a servant in a rich family really puts things into perspective.

Every character in Fateful has a complex intricacy, even the minor ones. Tess especially. She was incredibly strong and understanding of the strange and unexplainable things that were happening constantly around her. With the feral nature of Mikhail threatening her every move, she braved through it all with her chin up.

Alec was one of those characters who will go to the ends of the earth to protect the people he cares about. While that is admirable all of the time, it is dangerous and reckless sometimes. But still, I couldn't help thinking he'd be anyone girls knight (wolf?) in shining armor. Tess's strength about Alec's secret makes for the perfect coupling of two exquisite characters. The concept of werewolves on the Titanic seemed a bit strange to me at first but became intriguing and thrilling soon after opening the book. The ancient and modern reaches of the Brotherhood made it hard for me to imagine a happy ending, but alas, you will have to read it to find out!
Good Points
- Set on the Titanic!
- Gripping and paranormal romance!

Fateful is a mix of the Titanic and Nightshade y Andrea Cremer (or anything werewolfy). Oh, and add a little Romeo and Juliet to the mix, then stir a little, and you get *drum rolls*... Fateful by acclaimed author Claudia Gray!

Fateful is an awesome book that keeps you gripping your seat all the while you are reading it. The story is quite particular and is set in 1912. The main character is Tess, a poor maid of the Lisle, a long rich family, but now penniless because of one of its child gambling problems. She is really nice and selfless, and she embarks on the Titanic with the Lisle and falls in love with Alec, a werewolf, and one of Alec's fellow werewolf sets his sight on her, and won,t think twice about killing her for fun. And lets add the ship sinking along that.

I liked the characters, except for Lady Regina and one of her sons with a name that starts with an L and doesn't end with oser and Mikhail... Anyways, I really liked the characters; they each added something to the story that was particular. I personally liked Irene a lot. She was sweet, unlike her mother.

The writing was fluffy and serious. I have fallen in love with her writing since Evernight, and I've just fallen deeper. It's fun to read, easy and fast-paced.
