I just recently finished this book and think it is great! Laurie Halse Anderson is great when it comes to writing about realistic teenage events/experiences!
Good Points
Again just like Speak this book is about real teenage events. I love this book, but I can't say it is the best book I've ever read but I can say it is something I would recommend. I really enjoy the concept of the whole book.

Twisted By Laurie Halse Anderson is told in Tyler’s point of view. Tyler’s thoughts and emotions were funny at times while still intense at some parts. Most of the characters were easy to like and enjoy because of their humour and awkwardness. The idea for this story is good, I liked the challenges Tyler had to faced but I wish he was more depressed and talked about his feelings more than he did.
Good Points
The chapters were really short and easy to read. Like I said before, I loved Tyler’s humour because he was so funny not only with the stuff that he said but also his thoughts. The thoughts that were going through his mind when he was near Bethany or Chip. My favourite part wasn’t the ending, but somewhere near it when Tyler finally snapped at someone. It’s my favourite part because he knew he couldn’t do what he wanted so he had to take his anger out on something instead of someone.

"Twisted" is definitely not what i expected. I thought it was going to be a bit boring. It ended up being the opposite.
In this book, a teenager named Tyler gets into some trouble. Apparently, he spray painted the school and got caught because he left his wallet at the scene. For his punishment, he had to help out the school janitors.
Becuase he had to do a lot of labor, he got strong and muscular. (He was able to lift almost 200 pounds.) His image changed a bit and everyone saw him as a dangerous boy. This seemed to catch the attention of the school's most popular girl, Bethany Milbury.
In the book, Tyler goes through so many events that make it seem like his life is going to end. You must read this book to see what I'm talking about. It really is a good read that will have you wondering whats going to happen next.

This story is about Tyler-former nerd extrordinaire. But after painting some graffiti on the school, he's turned into the popular trouble-maker. And he's also caught the most popular girl in school's eye, who just happens to be his dad's, boss's daughter. Oh, and her big brother has picked on Tyler since grade school. But and things seem to be getting better, things start to go wrong and all of a sudden he's back in the position he started in: outcast. Then one evening feeling fed up with all the drama, especially from his father, he tells his parent how it's been for him and his brother, and tells them that if it doesn't stop, they'll never see him again. This story is very realistic, and a good read. If you like rollercoasters, you should definitely read this !

What a powerful book! I was thoroughly engaged in the story and Tyler's plight. That kid had it rough and yet he was able to overcome it, but barely. I was so proud of him by the end of the story, I wanted to bust! He finally stood up for himself, his family, and had some pride. I thought it was the end for him for a minute but he came roaring back! I could have done without all the sexual innuendos and the language but the story really sucked me in. Those last few pages, I was just holding my breath in anticipation. Needless to say, I loved it!

Twisted is about a high school boy, who hits an all time low in his life (girl trouble, peer pressure, etc.) and becomes depressed. The book is depressing. It is definitely something you have to be in the mood for. I enjoyed the parts in this book I could relate to. There is high school drama, parents expect too much of you, hook ups, etc. The author did a great job of making the character so realistic that the reader can relate to his problems. I know the book was meant to be depressing, but after reading this book, I wanted to go shoot myself. I would only recommend this book to somebody is having the same problems with depression. The ending was good, because the main character was able to get out of his depression state. That was just about the best part of the book, though.

This book was well written, though slightly vulgar, but a good representation of life inside a high school boy's mind. This book had a certain element of surprise to it. By the title of the novel you would expect him to be some type of sick rapist who is just trying to get with this girl for certain reasons, but as the novel progresses you learn a lot about his true intentions. When the girl throws herself at him, totally drunk, you would think by the things he has thought about her and the title of the book, that he would definitely take advantage of this opportunity. Little did we know that he has some dignity and morale... who would have thought, right? Well, in the end she turns out to be a little more twisted than Tyler. I found this book pretty entertaining. I thought it was humorous, serious, and sad all at once. This book was one of the ones that got me into reading teen novels because it seemed pretty realistic to high school life, with a small twist.

This book really made me think. Especially about what I shouldnt be doing in high school. And what i SHOULD be doing. It really shows kids the consequences of being a kind of kid who really doesnt care, and how you shouldnt be like that. I thought it was a really good book. I dont think I'll ever forget it.

Another book I had on my Reading Bowl List. It was better then some of the other ones. It amazed me, he had to put tar on the roof of the school just bc he spraypainted the school.

If this dude had the guts to do that (plus the message for the princible) i think he should be rewarded, but hey what do i know?

a couple of my fav parts was where he smashed the train set, and when he told Chip off toward the end.
