Evernight was an interesting and intriguing novel.
I liked the plot and the twist and surprises that were in the story.
I really liked Lucas. He was brave and stood up to the bullies. Vic was hilarious and Bianca was surprising.
Looking forward to read where the rest of the series is headed!

Bianca wants to escape.

She's been uprooted from her small hometown and enrolled at Evernight Academy, an eerie Gothic boarding school where the students are somehow too perfect: smart, sleek, and almost predatory. Bianca knows she doesn't fit in.

Then she meets Lucas. He's not the "Evernight type" either, and he likes it that way. Lucas ignores the rules, stands up to the snobs, and warns Bianca to be carefuleven when it comes to caring about him.

"I couldn't stand it if they took it out on you," he tells Bianca, "and eventually they would."

But the connection between Bianca and Lucas can't be denied. Bianca will risk anything to be with Lucas, but dark secrets are fated to tear them apart . . . and to make Bianca question everything she's ever believed.
Well I was very excited when I got my copy of Evernight. I heard and read a lot of good things about it. The first 145 pages or so of the book were kind of boring. We really didn't know what Bianca was until around page 146 but that's when the book got really interesting.Afterwards the book was really good. It's so much better than some vampire books I've read. It has romance, twists, vampires, ancient battles, and so much more. The characters were well developed and the plot towards the middle was amazing.I really enjoyed reading this book. I stayed up all night finishing it. I can't wait for it's sequel Stargazer. Claudia Gray's debut novel is a must read.

EVERNIGHT gives you a little bit of romance, a little bit of humor, a little bit of mystery and a whole lot of fun!  The story follows Bianca, a student at a prestigious and mysterious boarding school.  There is so much more to this book than meets the eye and I cannot wait until the sequel!

i really liked the twist in the middle of the book...up until then you have the impression that bianca is a normal girl.  I loved that because i didnt see it coming although reading through the book again there were clues as to what bianca really was.  another book about romeo and juliet,  true love seperated by hate.  great book! a must read!

I really liked this one. However, I did not care for how the big secret was revealed. But I can not clarify without giving it away. All I will say is this book was worth the money. Typical teenage story...Parents find a better job...uproot the family to another location...child goes to a new school. Expect that this school is filled with vampires. Bianca knows she won't fit in with the in crowd and when she meets another outsider, Lucas, she suddenly doesn't care. He is rebellious, courageous, and sweet. But Bianca has a secret, one just as big as Evernight's, and it could tear them apart.

Before I started Evernight, I was warned that the first 100 or so pages were just setting up the book AND that something odd will happen in the middle that will actually start the novel. Yea, I can see how people might say that.

Let me just say that the part where the novel actually starts...TOTALLY surprised me. I was like: wtf?! I mean, in the beginning, there was absolutely no mention about vampires or anything. But then, all of sudden, right in the middle of the book, bam! Vampires were suddenly everywhere. Totally weird and unexpected.

And it's weird how Bianca made no mention about her vampire parents but instead, just went on and talked about how they liked teaching and stuff. Then, after the breakthrough, she talks about how her parents had always told her from when she was young that she would be a vampire. And she drinks blood everyday. I mean, can you mention that a little ahead of time? It totally messed my brain up.

Anyway, what I did like about the book were some of the characters such as Vic. He's so damn funny and totally laid back. I mean, I just love his character and personality. Such a friendly and out-going guy.

Bianca, well, honestly, I can't really say much about her. I feel like she's still a mysterious character so hopefully the next book will take a better look into her life.

Balthazar is, omg, one of the friendliest [is that word?] guy I ever read about. He's awesome and nice to everyone despite their "status".

Lucas has anger issues. He's easily angered and when he is angered, he blows up in fights. However, I guess his history and background has something to do with it. I just don't really like how he seems to blow up and goes out of his way to annoy people.

For the relationship between Lucas and Bianca, I feel like it's..premature. It's like, they've only known for each other a few months but then they're in love? It's pretty skeptical and unrealistic.
Overall, Evernight was an entertaining book but I hope that Stargazer can pick things up.

Evernight is a high-class boarding school.  But there's something different about Evernight.  And Bianca isn't sure she likes it. 16-year-old Bianca is caught somewhere between the people who fit in and the people who don't.  Lucas is her first friend at Evernight. He falls into the "don't fit in" catergory and seems to like it that way.  But both Bianca and Lucas have dark secrets their hiding.  What happens when the truth is revealed?

Evernight was okay.  From the very beginning of the book, I know the writing could've been better, but I kept reading anyways.  It does seem to get a little better towards the end of the book.  I didn't really like Evernight, but it was definitely worth reading because Stargazer was a million times better.  Evernight requires a slightly more mature reader than Twilight.  I'm using Twilight as a comparison because I know so many people have read it, not because it's anything like Evernight.  Someone who's read  Blue Bloods would probably like Evernight.  Ages 13+.

Evernight was a disappointing novel. I ordered the book for my kindle and started reading right away, it started off slow and dull and didnt stand out to me. Bianca was a typical book girl, hated her life, thought she wasnt pretty, blah blah blah. She moves into an exclusive Prep school where everyone is rich and gorgeous, and she doenst fit in. The books goes on like this until she falls for the schools bad boy who is rebellious and hot. About 12 chapter into the book she suddenly is sucking her boyfriends blood and you find out shes a vampire? as if the book weren't disappointing  enough. After this fact came out i instantly lost interest in the book., though i finished it. There are way to many vampire books out there for any of them to be original after a while and this happen to be one of the lesser vampire books. The series now has two or three books but im not rushing out to get them just yet. You could read the book yourself but if you are above the age or 12 the concept is overplayed and generic.
