At Evernight Academy, you either belong, or you're an outsider, and being an outsider has it's risks.

With it's walls and towers, decorated with gargoyles, and made of stone, Evernight is pretty intimidating to Bianca, a new student at the academy in which her parents have come to teach. A school where the teachers are strict and her fellow students, with the exception of a few students Bianca would consider normal, are all graceful, flawlessly beautiful, and don't accept her because she's shy and doesn't seem to fit in with their mega-rich lifestyles.

Luckily for Bianca, there's Lucas, a gorgeous guy who she meets while trying to run away from Evernight, and who convinces her to stay. Lucas is also a bit of an outsider at Evernight, and Bianca feels inexplicably drawn to him, but after their first meeting Lucas starts avoiding her for no reason, leaving Bianca confused and hurt as she tries to figure out if the connection she felt with him at their first meeting was only one sided.

Meanwhile, Bianca tries bonding with the other kids at Evernight, like her roommate Patrice Deveraux, and the handsome Balthazar More who's in her mother's history class. But Bianca feels out of place in this school of beauties, and though Balthazar is a great (amazing, terrific, fabulous, brilliant, gorgeous....) guy, she just can't seem to get her mind off of Lucas, and what she could have possibly done to scare him away.

But Lucas isn't what he seems: he's got a secret, and in the shadows of the academy, secrets don't stay hidden for long. Bianca has a strange feeling that something sinister is in the works at Evernight, and she might be right. Soon mysterious histories will resurface, and truths will be revealed. All it will take is a single bite.

I really, really, really loved this book! There were a few things that didn't really make sense to me, but the story moved along fabulously and at that point I really didn't care about the weird bits because I loved the story so much. I read it staight through and I finished it in about 2 days because I literally couldn't put it down! Great read! ^_^

When the story begins in Evernight, Bianca has just left the small town where she's spent her whole life. She's a new student at Evernight Academy, a creepily Gothic boarding school where her classmates are somehow too perfect: smart, sleek and almost predatory. Bianca knows she doesn't fit in.

Evernight Academy is an extremely exclusive boarding school that has just began to relax its entrance requirements, allowing in new students. The new kids stick out like a sparkly vampire in the sunlight. All are aquard and nervous about the first day of school.

Bianca has been shy to the point of pain her whole life, and being at Evernight makes no difference, until she meets a boy named Lucas. Though he is also a new student, he shows every bit of confidence and perfection of the alumni, though he is determained not to be the typical "Evernight type". There's a connection between Bianca and Lucas that can't be denied. She would risk anything to be with himbut dark secrets are fated to tear them apart... and to make Bianca question everything she's ever believed to be true.

Claudia Gray has created a wonderful novel about fantacy, love, betrayal, and mystery. Just when you think that you now what will happen, she is able to shock you in a way that you would never be able to predict. Through the novel you feel mixed emotions, fright, romance, horror, betrayal, sadness, anger, and more. The author mixes real life issues with the enchantment of magical creatures. The shock and cliffhanger at the end will have you rereading the book again and again just so you can try to guess what will happen in her next novel.

This story makes your heart reach out to a couple from two different worlds. Lucas hates vampires with all his being and spying on them in evernight academy isn't a big thrill for him.
Bianca isn't too thrilled starting over in a new school far from her friends and wants to run away from her parents who are just beginning as teachers in evernight. When these two meet it seems like this school won't be so horrible after all. It's too late to turn back after their encounter in the woods because these two can't deny what they feel. But when the realize the truth behind the lies in their lives can they still be together? This book keeps you surprised with each page turn and leaves you waiting for more.I love the series and I'm ecstatic to have the final book coming out this March!

Sometimes by reviews have stories to go a long with them. This book definetly does. A few months ago, I heard about this book and I was interested-I mean, I love vampire books as you all know, and any new vamp material is good material. As time built up to me actually reading this book I had found that my expectations of it rose as well. Now, I have learned from expierence that having high expectations equals huge let down(I am looking at you Phantom Menace), so when I finally started reading it, I tried to prepare myself for it not being what I imagined
I didn't need to.
This is the first book I have ever read that has ever "lived up to" what I imagined it to be in my head. Of course, many you simpathize with the" it sounded good on the back cover" syndrome-I do too. Many books just don't turn how you imagined them originally in your head. Not that these books are bad but sometimes they just aren't what you saw or wanted out of the book.
Evernight, however, suprassed all of my expectations of the book. It seriously was the best book I read this year so far. One of the best debutes I have ever seen from an author, Ms. Gray makes it seem like she has written numerous teen novels. Now, I will have to re-read it like 5 times before it can be considered but I think I may have a new favorite series to watch out for.

Onto the novel itself, It's about Biana a girl attending Evernight because her parents teach there. She decides to run away to prove a point when she runs into( or away from) Jared/Lucas- a fellow student. Sparks fly and before you know it, Biana is pulled into a love story with twists and turns that have a Romeo and Juliet-esque feel to them

The characters themselves are quite interesting. You of course sympathize with Bianca and feel for her throughout the book. You will also fall in love with Jared/Lucas-He has a bad boy attitude but not in a way that makes you hate him. His character will through you for a loop so be prepared.

In conclusion, it is an amazing read. You must pick this book up! I You will be hooked from the prolouge on.

Evernight is a romantic novel that really captivates you. It is a must read for ages 13+ (although I'm only 11 and I read this). Evernight is a story for Twilight fans it includes drama between a vampire and a vampire HUNTER!!! Claudia Gray makes you wanting more and more. Lovely Biancia (vampire) and dreamy Lucas (vampire hunter) fall in love and where does that lead them? You're gonna have to read Evernight just to find out what happens!

I thought that this was a good book.  I enjoyed the slightly different take on vampires because it's hard to find an original way to present them.  The plot is somewhat predictable, but yet there are also some surprises.  The second book, Stargazer, is also something worth reading.

Evernight by Claudia Gray is one of those books that you start at midnight and finish around four in the morning. You know the type; Short, sweet, to the point, and addictive. I would never in a million years call this a fantastic book, however, as an overnight crawl under the covers and dont sleep book, Evernight is pretty much perfect.

The story centers on Bianca and her experience at her new boarding school, Evernight Academy, where her parents have just become teachers. On her first day she meets Lucas, another new student who feels just as out of place amidst the lofty, rich regulars. Theres vampires too but it would ruin the whole first half of the book if I told you who and where. I mean, youll figure it out pretty quick but expect the unexpected.

What makes this book good? It takes the ridiculously unoriginal idea of vampires and a gothic boarding school and adds a little twist that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. Biancas friend Lucas is another one of those tall sexy book boys who can fight and may or may not be dangerous. Actually, a lot of the secondary characters have some fascinating development and back story to them which is something you dont generally get a lot of in books like this. The plot was well& plotted? Oh dear, I need sleep. The plot was& riveting. It wasnt in any way original but the romantic story line was filled with twists and speed bumps that kept the book propped open on my pillow.

What made this book bad? The rest of the plot was simple and didnt really amount to much. The end of the book hints to an ulterior series plot but this book itself was mostly romance which wasnt a huge problem for me. The character of Bianca is dull dull dull. Shes one of those, what are they called? Mary Sue characters who are just pretty and sort of smart and attract all of the guys and she isnt really into anything. I felt that Ms. Gray delved so much deeper into smaller characters and completely neglected her main heroine.

Overall, I wouldnt say not to read this book. Its not like it was a dark black shadow upon young adult literature, and if youve never read a vampire novel before, you may actually enjoy it immensely. And really it made for an entertaining night. I would say that Evernight is great way to fritter away a few extra hours of unused time after a long day of making your brain work hard. Everybody needs a break now and then.

When it comes to books about vampires, I didnt think anything could possibly be better than the Twilight Saga. That was before I discovered Evernight, which may well become Twilights rival, at least from my point of view.
The book takes place at the mysterious Evernight Academy, a school filled with secrets. Bianca, the main character and narrator of the book, is forced to attend school here by her parents. On the night before classes, she attempts to run away to prove to her parents (who will be teachers at Evernight Academy) that they shouldnt have brought her here. On her mission, she meets Lucas in the woods near the school. Lucas and Bianca are drawn to each other from the very first time they meet. It seems as though they are the perfect couple, until their secrets start leaking out&
