Rayne Davidson is perfectly happy fading into the background. Her mama’s antics garner enough attention in their small Southern town for the both of them, but when Rayne catches the eye of all-star QB, Preston Howard, she’s enamored with the possibilities. Too bad Preston doesn’t make her heart thump—but his brother does.

Gage Howard doesn’t mind the town’s stares, probably because he doesn’t get them. Growing up in his older brother’s shadow, Gage shrugs off the endless parade of girls Preston brings home—until Rayne. But there are unwritten rules that shouldn’t be broken, like cheating on your boyfriend or betraying your brother. Rayne and Gage deny their growing attraction, neither willing to hurt Preston—until the town finds out.

They think overcoming the gossip will be the hardest obstacle.

They’re wrong.

Rayne’s mama has a secret, and its revelation could divide the town, the families, and the new couple.

Can love really exist if it’s all built on a lie?

Where to start with this book?

The Story:
Rayne manages to snag the eye of the most desirable boy in town and she thinks he's what she wants. He brings with him a certain status, but being his girlfriend isn't as easy as she imagined. First, there's the town gossip. There's also the fact that Preston doesn't seem to know how to put her first.
And then... there's Gage, the unwanted brother, the loner, the outcast.
And the only one of the Howard boys that makes her heart race.

What I loved:
I couldn't look away from the story. It gripped me from the beginning and wouldn't let go until I knew how it would all turn out. Nothing happens as expected and those are the best kind of stories. There's a theme of secrets that's intriguing as well. This town and these families are completely messed up and it's fascinating to watch it all unfold.

What was just okay:
There are a lot of misunderstandings that can be cleared up if people would just talk to each other. These three characters hurt each other again and again. It's almost unhealthy. Preston is a jerk in the first half but then does a one-eighty and becomes a completely different person. It worked for him and Rayne definitely needed it from him, but something seemed off about it. Still, it didn't take away from the great story.

Final Verdict:
A well-written and intriguing story that will leave your mind spinning and your heart aching. Definitely a can't miss.

*I was given an e-galley.*

Brandy Woods Snow is a wonderfully talented writer and plotter! This story has a lot of romance, but there are unexpected twists that add layers to these sometimes flawed characters. Long-avoided ramifications of past actions affect our main characters on a deep level, blindsiding them.

This story feels like a look into what could be true lives, experienced by the main characters Rayne and Gage with their every-other POV switching chapters. It’s sometimes sweet, sometimes “spicy”, sometimes tense or sad, and will always make you root for Rayne and Gage. There are excellent settings too which will make you want to visit South Carolina!

Aw yes, transparency. I’m but one of her brutal critique partners and friends.

Will this book capture you by the first chapter? A simple question that determines whether I turn the page to continue reading and a must have quality. Meant To Be Broken will not only capture your attention, but it will cause you long sleepless nights! I cannot gush enough over the strength of Rayne’s and Gage’s voices, the beautifully portrayed dynamics of a small Southern town, and the heat wave confusion of young love. You will laugh. You will cry. You will fall head of over heels hard in love.

Meant To Be Broken, a story that will seize your heart and have you begging for the next novel in the Carolina Clay Series.

I COULD NOT STOP READING THIS BOOK! I fell in love with all the characters and secretly plotted the death of two of them. Watching Rayne fall in love brought back memories of my own first love. The vivid way Brandy is able to paint the picture of small town life really helped to immerse me in the story! I am team Gage all the way! I will warn you now, when you start this book you will not be able to stop reading. It's filled with so much romantic tension that it just flows off the page, wrapping around your heart and refusing to let go. And small town secrets that will send chills up your spine! Yes, Meant to Be Broken will have you rooting for this amazing couple from the very first time they meet! #teamgageforever
