Each night at precisely 4:33 am, while sixteen-year-old London Lane is asleep, her memory of that day is erased. In the morning, all she can "remember" are events from her future. London is used to relying on reminder notes and a trusted friend to get through the day, but things get complicated when a new boy at school enters the picture. Luke Henry is not someone you'd easily forget, yet try as she might, London can't find him in her memories of things to come.

When London starts experiencing disturbing flashbacks, or flash-forwards, as the case may be, she realizes it's time to learn about the past she keeps forgetting-before it destroys her future.

I love the concept of this book. It is so original, like, we all read and know about telling the future, but remembering the future and not knowing the past? That, I have not seen before.

I better start at the beginning. London Lane has a strange problem. At exactly 4:33 every morning, she forgets everything she has done that day, everything about the past, and only remembers things that are going to happen to her, some notes and her phone to get her through the day. It is really very interesting to see her struggle through her daily life, through things that seem so simple to us. Think of it like this: She can remember an argument with her friend that won't happen for a few months, but she can't remember what her boyfriend looks like when she saw him yesterday.

She thinks she's managing perfectly well, until she gets a flash: she's at a funeral. Then she meets a guy (duh).

And suddenly everything is more complicated. Her mum's hiding stuff from her. She doesn't know what is the meaning of her flash... or why she can't see Luke, her perfect boyfriend, in her future. All she knows is what she knows today, and what will happen.

The future is suddenly seeming less and less welcoming. Can she change things and make them right? London is not sure...

I definitely recommend this book. Try it out!!!!

Wow. That's all I can start out with, is wow. I am utterly stunned by how original, how beautiful, and how amazingly captivating Forgotten was. I promise to do my best to explain without any spoilers, but let me just say that this is a book you need to keep your eye on. Trust me.

London Lane has an interesting problem. Every night when she goes to sleep, her memories disappear and she starts the next day with a blank slate. Sounds pretty awful right? Well that's what I thought too, but London handles her situation with the utmost grace and strength. I fell in love with her right from the start. Using a notebook and a specially programmed phone, London keeps her life on track the best way she knows how. It was fascinating to watch her go through her daily life.

Now if you're thinking that London is just like any other person who might have something like amnesia, let me guarantee you that you're wrong. See she may forget the past, but what is really captivating about her life is that she sees the future. It's not always clear, it's not always happy, but it's there. London lives her life in the future, because she cannot seem to remember her past. People who are unimportant flit by, but the people she knows will stick are always there to be remembered when she wakes up in the morning. The downside to seeing the future is that she can't change it. Or can she? Are you salivating over the prospect yet? As you should be! This added so much more to the story, especially when the mystery (that I won't spoil for you) comes into play. Did I mention this book is amazing?

In terms of the hot guy and romance that is promised in the synopsis, I was really pleased with how it all worked out. Instead of just throwing London into a new relationship with some unspoken connection, the two of them really do grow together. Cat Patrick also throws in some information that makes you feel really good about their match. On top of that, Luke is to die for. He's sweet, funny, sensitive, basically perfect. However he's not so perfect that he is unbelievable. Luke is the guy we all want in our lives. Flawed, but flawed perfectly. I think I might be in love too.

There are so many elements of this book that I'd love to shout from the rooftops, but I'll have to leave it here. Anything else would be a spoiler, and you all know my policy on spoilers. So therefore, you'll have to trust me when I say that Forgotten is well worth your time! If you want a story that is truly original, go and get a copy of this book. You won't be sorry.

I absolutely loved the premise for this book, it's such an original concept. The synopsis had me a bit confused, but surprisingly, the book actually cleared up the confusion quite well. I've heard that Forgotten can be confusing, but I honestly didn't see it. The book puts you inside London's head where this is an absolutely normal thing, so it felt normal to me as well.

Speaking of London, she wasn't what I was expecting. This was a good thing, though. Often, girls in these types of books (reality with a twist, if you will) like to pretend they're normal (other than whatever makes reality abnormal) while truly there's something that makes them different than you and me. This wasn't the case with London, though. I found her to be just as normal as normal as any old girl in high school if maybe a bit more mature. I enjoyed reading about her and trying to figure out what she may do next.

Sadly, Forgotten wasn't quite as fantastic as I'd hoped. The love interest kind of seemed to pop out of nowhere to me (page 10 is a little early for me) and though this was sort of explained, I still didn't feel it was a good enough explanation. I also found the ending to be a bit lackluster. I felt like I was left with questions unanswered and quite big questions at that. Overall, the writing was only okay as well. It wasn't bad and it got me through the story just fine, but that's all it did for me.

Final thoughts: Though the writing wasn't what it could have been, the original story makes up for that. It's definitely worth picking up.
