Each page has a sentence that an adult will need to read to get the storyline, but a child independently could pick up and count the objects on each page since they are not hidden. I like that the number is written on each page along with a concrete representation of the number to help preschool kids connect the two ideas. Overall, this book is age appropriate and supports early number counting and reading numbers 1-10.
