This book starts out with a letter to 17 year old Ginny from her wild carefree aunt. Her aunt does what she wants to do and is quite the free spirit. The note has $1000 to buy a plane ticket for an impulsive journey to London. The aunt says she will supply everything she needs, but Ginny is only to bring what she can fit into a backpack, no guidebooks or aids, no extra money and no electronics - cell phones, laptops, etc. Who wouldn't jump on an opportunity like that! The letter tells her to go get a package from a favorite deli. She gets the package and inside are blue envelopes labeled 2-13, she is to open them one at a time in order and not open the following one until she's completed the "mission" in each letter. The thing is, Ginny's aunt has been dead for 3 months and the letters come as a surprise to Ginny. Ginny is a solid, shy good girl and she is a bit anxious about this trip but she goes. She is immediately out of her comfort zone as she goes from one place to another as per the envelopes, meeting very interesting people she wouldn't have normally met. You soon figure out that it's not so much the letters and tasks, it's about the adventure and you get excited to see what is in the next envelope. Ginny is not just on an adventure she is experiencing life , new places, and finding herself doing things she would not normally do. With the help of the friends she meets along the way, she stumbles along from one place to another, learning more about her aunt and herself with every letter she opens. There are many likeable and relatable characters in this book, many life lessons she learns, and a little love along the way. There is quite a surprise regarding the last envelope. This book is definatley a nice escape.

When I first picked up 13 little blue envelopes at the library, I was really excited to read it. The cover and the description on the back made this book seem exactly like a book that I would want to read, and it definitely was! There wasn't a part in it that i did not enjoy! I loved the way the author portrayed the characters and made them come to life.

Ginny Blackstone goes on adventure one summer lead by her dead "runaway aunt". Ginny was able to be herself around her aunt, silly, and adventerous rather than shy. But when her aunt just picks up and leaves Ginny feels abandoned. Then when her aunt dies, Ginny doesn't know what to do. It's a good thing that Ginny's aunt set up an adventure just for her. Ginny ends up traveling all over Europe, following Aunt Peg's rules and opening only one envelope at a time to find out her next location or task.

This book was truly amazing. You never knew exactly what would happen next, which i like in a book. Ginny's character was very developed but the rest including Keith's weren't. I would have loved to get inside Keith's head. 13 Little Blue Envelopes never left me bored thougg and that's what really counts.

I say to go out and buy this book! There's no rush, but it should definately be put in your to-be-read pile!

The main character is Ginny, whose life is the opposite of interesting. Her life is such a bore, even she is getting tired of it. She can't help but think of her Aunt Peg. Her aunt Peg was so exiting and full of life. There's only one problem: her aunt Peg disappeared three years ago, and no one knows where she is.

After receiving a letter from her MIA aunt, Ginny is forced to take a trip to various parts of the world, under her Aunt Peg's command. Following her 13 "little blue envelopes", Ginny finds out more about her aunt than she could have ever imagined. Plus, on her adventure she finds out much more about herself, as a person.

This book is amazingly written. There were hardly any boring spots within the book. It has won many awards, and I must say that I am not at all the least bit surprised. This is, by far, one of my favorite books.

This book was very fun to read, with a lot of fun and unexpected turns. If you like books with travel and adventure, you'll enjoy this one also. The characters are cute and relatable, and you wont be bored at all. I think the idea is very fun and creative, i would love to leave a quest like this to my family members too. =]

"13 Little Blue Envelopes" was a very adventurous book. I didn't feel that it was as moving as some other books that I have read, but it was worth a read to someone that likes a action packed creative, adventurous, and different book, you might like this one!

The main character is sent on a surprise trip from her dead aunt. She recieves thirteen little blue envelopes in the mail one day, with one of the instructions being to follow each not one at a time. So here the main character is, a teenager, alone and in a whole new country, just because a package in the mail.

Find out what happens by reading "13 Little Blue Envelopes"!

I thought this book was good. It led you with Virginia Blackstone, a shy girl who is led to come out of her shell by her erratic Aunt Peg. Ginny's aunt recently died of a brain tumor after unexpectedly leaving to Europe where she never comes back. One day she gets a letter in the mail, explaining the need for her to get to New York then hop on a plane to London and other crazy adventures that follow. She makes friends and finds love traveling through Europe. I thought this book had good writing and gave a good view into how Ginny was feeling and what was going on. I was slightly unimpressed by the book's ending which just kind of left you hanging. I can understand it's reasoning but I was expecting more. It left me slightly confused but otherwise I felt it was a wonderful and enticing book. It is a fun and easy read. Once you start reading it you really get into it.

Ginny is convinced that the only thing that makes her interesting is her aunt, a starving artist and constant traveler. When her aunt dies of brain cancer, Ginny cant understand whats ahead of her. Days filled with boring scenes and an unoriginal life? Then she receives a letter & from her aunt. She discovers that her aunt wrote 13 letters before she died, all addressed to Ginny. She sends Ginny off on a journey, to different countries to complete different tasks. Who said Ginny couldnt be interesting and exciting? But its still her aunt that is making her that way and its all a game. It finally hits Ginny: her aunt is dead. Now, she has to be her own person.

13 Little Blue Envelopes is One-in-a-Million. It was completely creative and unusual! The author flowed with a new, fresh idea and it turned out great. I would have liked to read more about Ginnys mom and her home in New Jersey but it seemed that Ginny was caught in the moment and it rarely came across her mind. As the story developed, so did the characters and the descriptions of the settings blew me away! The writing is great and I look forward to reading more by this author in the near future. I could never imagine the countries that were spoken of but now I can with the help of this book. The reasons I rated this book a 4 are specified below.

Contains:

*brief nudity
*homosexuality of a minor character involved in two chapters
*sensuality
*sexual references

this a great book. Ginny recives a letter from her (dead) grandma instructing her to to go to her grandmas old apartment where she gets a package with 13 little blue envlops. the first one instructs her to go to an airport and get on a plane to Europe. The letters tell her to do strange things like give away alot of money to a actor. Where the envlops will lead her Ginny has no clue.
