THE DARKEST HOUR
My name is Lucie Blaise.
I am sixteen years old.
I have many aliases, but I am none of the girls you see.
What I am is the newest agent of Covert Ops.
And we are here to take down Hitler.
After the Nazis killed my brother on the North African front, I volunteered at the Office of Strategic Services in Washington, DC, to do my part for the war effort. Only instead of a desk job at the OSS, I was tapped to join Covert Ops — a secret espionage and sabotage organization of girls. Six months ago, I was deployed to German-occupied France to gather intelligence and eliminate Nazi targets.
My current mission: Track down and interrogate a Nazi traitor about a weapon that threatens to wipe out all of Western Europe. Then find and dismantle the weapon before Hitler detonates it. But the deeper I infiltrate, the more danger I’m in. Because the fate of the free world hangs in the balance, and trusting the wrong person could cause millions of lives to be lost. Including my own.

I love the synopsis! The story sounds like it’ll be thrilling, and the cover perfectly matches that historical-spy-story feel. Can’t wait for this to come out!
The cover is astoundingly beautiful…..YA books are for YA….but also adults! This is cover that “covers” both. And, synopsis makes me want to read it right now!
I love the colors chosen for the cover. That deep red fading into the dark blue is very striking. Gives the idea of the a powerful women walking into a dangerous situation. It gives me chills…the good kind. I can’t wait to get my whole book club onto this. We’ll definitely be reading this one. (Plus, I really wish I owned this dress…well, maybe without the Nazi flag.)

The cover is amazing! I tend to judge books by their covers (I like my bookshelf to look pretty) and this one would definitely make the cut. The synopsis is great, and I can’t wait to read this book!
I love the cover, how the dress is part of the overall design, gorgeous. Love the use of reds too, one of my favorite colors but not used often enough.
I look forward to the book, I’m a fan of alternate history, blame Harry Turtledove for that one. Definitely going onto my I want to read list no matter what.

The synopsis reminds me of the black widow and she’s my favorite avenger. The cover is really nice and it sounds very interesting.

I’m not a huge fan of the Paris background in her dress, but otherwise I love the big typography and colors! The synopsis has me intrigued, and I love a good alternative historical novel!
