Today we’re super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for EMERGE: THE EDGE by Melissa A. Craven, releasing September 29, 2015 from Midnight Hour Studio. Before we get to the cover, here’s a note from Melissa:

Hello YABCers! And welcome to the exclusive cover reveal for my new release, EMERGE: THE EDGE, (prequel to Emerge: The Awakening.)

I am beyond excited to reveal this amazing cover art! Despite the fact that I went to art school and have spent years and years producing my own designs — I totally blank whenever it’s time to create a new cover. My brain gets so overloaded with ideas I just cannot express in words. Yep, the writer is reduced to “Dude, it has to have color, I mean like, color!” And that’s about as descriptive as I get. Thank God for 99designs.com where I met the amazing, Zoe Shtorm. She entered my design contest for book one, and nailed it on the first try. Right away I thought, “this girl gets me.” I am constantly blown away by the compliments I receive for her hard work. It was a no brainer to return to Zoe for my next cover, and she rocked it again. Hope you love it as much as I do.

About the Author

Melissa A. Craven was born near Atlanta, Georgia, but moved to Cleveland, Ohio at the age of seventeen. She still thinks of Cleveland as home, so it was only natural for Emerge to take place there.

Today, she is back in Atlanta—for some reason she can’t seem to stay away from the ungodly heat that makes her long for things like “lake effect snow” and wind that will knock you flat. Melissa decided a long time ago that the “life checklist” everyone else was clutching so tightly in their fists, just wasn’t for her. She does everything backwards because she’s weird like that, but she’s an artist and artists are notoriously “unique” and “quirky.”

She is an avid student of art and design, and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of West Georgia in 2009. She worked as an interior designer for several years, but has always thought she might like to be a writer when she grows up.

In her spare time, if she has any, she enjoys shopping for derelict furniture she refinishes to exercise the interior design part of her brain.
