Grab the best seat in the house with this funny, touching picture book about a giraffe who keeps being mistaken for a chair!

From the acclaimed author-illustrator of There’s a Giraffe in My Soup, Ross Burach, comes a curious tale about finding one’s courage and standing up for oneself. Full of vibrant and playful illustrations and hilariously absurd logic, kids will want to read it again and again.

Could there be anything worse for Giraffe? Maybe being sat on by a skunk or smooshed by two hapless hippos, or worst of all—cornered by a hungry lion? No one seems to notice that Giraffe is not standing around just to be sat upon. Will he be able to find his voice and make his friends realize who he really is?

I AM NOT A CHAIR is such a great book. It's silly and funny and has a great message for kids. I loved reading this book for myself and my nephew. Giraffe spends the book learning that if he doesn't want to be sat on he must speak up for himself. We see how hard it is to speak up, how not everyone will want to listen but he does it anyway. Giraffe finally gets the courage to stand up to the other animals. What I loved was how each element really adds to this book. We have the story with a great message, the illustrations from the bright full pages, down to the funny animal faces.

Overall I think this is a great book for the entire family. It's funny and has some very silly moments but it's got a great message with a lot of heart. This book is one that parents will love reading to their kids and one that kids will want to read over and over again.
