Gotta Go! Is a relatable story of a child not going potty before leaving the house and then needing to go when there is no easy way to get them to the toilet in time. This is often a very frustrating situation but it was handled humorously with the advice from his mom and grandfather on how to hold it. When told to think of other things, Owen manages to find everything related to water that he can. When told about the potty dance, Owen, and his grandfather have a silly dance-off in the park. The illustrations were in a comic format that at times was a bit busy but overall lent itself to the silly parts of the story well. Overall, this is a common situation that young children can relate to and find humor in, and maybe be more willing to listen to their grownups about going potty before they travel after reading this book.
