Things aren't pretty for Emerson Watts.

Em was sure there couldn't be anything worse than being a brainiac the body of a teenaged supermodel.

But it turned out she was wrong. Because that supermodel could turn out to have a mother who's gone mysteriously missing, a brother who's shown up on her doorstep demanding answers, a former best friend who's intent on destroying Stark Enterprises to avenge the death of his lost love, and a British heartthrob who's written a song about her that's topping the charts.

How can Em balance all that with school, runway shows, and weekend jaunts to St. Johns — especially when she's got ex-boyfriends crawling out of the woodwork who want more than just a photo op; a sister who is headed to the high school cheerleading championships; a company she represents that seems to be turning to the dark side...

Not to mention trying to convince the love of her life that models aren't really airheads after all...especially one model in particular.

But then, nobody said it was going to be easy being Nikki.

Make sure that if you are going to read this book, you have the next one handy as this one ends in a cliffhanger.

Meg Cabot has done an excellent job bringing her characters to life. Each character has such individualistic quirks that you can't help, but feel like you really know them.

Her story also moves at a nice, quick pace making this a book that you can quickly get through and an excellent read for an airplane or long trip.

Overall, I loved the story and the twists! I can't wait to read the next one!

Being Nikki was actually much better than Airhead, its prequel. We saw more development with the plot, and more conflict. Originally it was flat, just Em trying to coop with her new body. Now, however, we try to understand the real purpose behind everything. This gives the reader another layer to digest.

The plot thickens, and we find the real Nikki&in someone elses body. We go deeper and deeper into Stark and find the real reason why Em happens to be Nikki. We meet new characters that bring more dynamic personalities. A touch of sass, a dash of evil, and a pot full of gasps.

I really do enjoy reading some of the characters in this book. We come across Steven, Nikkis brother, who acts from of the intermediated and the in-between of all the craziness. Through him we can understand more of Nikkis past and her background.

But one thing that I would like to say is the fact that the characters really do not have any major flaws. Unlike some of the older works, the flaws are blatant but the way Cabot morphed the flaws into something unique, something lovable, worked for me. Nowadays it is somewhat forced and makes me cringed. Or if not force, they are perfect, unless you start to make up random lies that there are flaws.

Take for example Christopher. Christopher was the geek that slept during class but when acquires a new haircut and a leather jacket, he is suddenly Mr. Popular.

Okay I may just contradict myself here but oh well. Em is starting to annoy me. Not sure how the rest of the readers feel but the whole Nikkis body has a mind of its own and its horny does not sit well with me. Two is fine, three, why not? But 4!? Will you please stop kissing every guy you meet? And its only book 2, I cannot wait to see who else she plans to hook up with.

Overall: Being Nikki was a nice installment to the Airhead series.

This was a good book, it is the sequel to Airhead where Emerson Watt's
brain is transferred to Nikki Howard's body. This book has very
conflicting themes which is not unlike the main character. It really
gets you thinking about how your life is influential to those around
you. Also how your actions effect others. Over all it was interesting
and a good read. Unfortunately you need to have read the 1st book to
understand what it really going on.

"There's no escape when everyone is watching you," Being Nikki by Meg Cabot

Em Watts life was going reasonably well living in the body of teen supermodel Nikki Howard. But things weren't good for long. Em learns that Nikki's real mom has gone missing, and Nikki's brother wants Em to find her. Em's former best friend Christopher and is computer genius cousin Felix want to take down Stark Enterprises, and Em has no idea what to do about it all. As Em becomes closer to her new friends and brother, she realizes she's losing her real family at the same time. Can Em balance her double life... or will she learn things aren't easy Being Nikki?

This was an excellent sequel to Airhead. There were a lot of new twists in the plot and you learned a lot more about Nikki's life before Em. Em has a lot of new problems to deal with and she realizes being a supermodel isn't as easy as she thought. I really felt like this book was almost better than the first and the ending was completely surprising, though it totally left me hanging. I can't wait for the next book in the series, Runaway to come out!

This series gets better and better. The character developments, the twisting plots and everything makes this book a must read.

Nikki, or should I say Em, is finding more problems. First, her "brother", Steven, comes back telling her that their mom was missing. Second, her ex-best friend, Christopher, is trying to bring her company down. Third, her company seems to be turning evil. What should a supermodel do? I think her character was nicely developed. She's funny, witty, and cares about her family deeply. She's also extremely determined and really smart. At least, smart enough to find that Stark is now bugging everything related to her - her house, her family's house, her ex-best friend's house, seemingly everyone who has any relation to her is being watched.

The characters in Airhead were also in this novel, which was something I enjoyed, as well as adding a bunch of new ones. Her brother, Steven, and Christopher's cousin, Felix, are two of my favorites. They bring such humor and personality to Being Nikki.

The plot is also well crafted. The corruption of corporate companies, the future in our technology and medicine fields, and the upper-class life of the rich are the basis of this intense yet refreshing novel. It provides a new level of conflict that will definitely draw the readers in.

Meg's writing style is amazingly unique and wonderful. I love the way she presents the characters and the plot, choosing the right thing to say.

I most definitely can't wait until the next book comes out!

Overall, Being Nikki is a wonderful novel, full of interesting conflicts, plot and intrigue.

a supermodel who is the face of Stark Enterprises, is living up to her end of the bargain finagled at the end of Cabot's previous novel Airhead. She is attending Em's old highschool, but is missing plenty of school to go on modeling gigs. Her amnesia story is still explaining the gaps in Nikki's memories, but when a good-looking guy shows up at the apartment, her mind is tested. Turns out Nikki actually came from somewhere before she was discovered as a hot commodity and has a brother named Steven, just on leave from the military. He, of course, can't believe that even with her memory loss, she can't remember their mother, the dog kennel or when she last heard from their mom. They begin to try to retrace her steps, with Em's old best bud, Christopher, who is planning a revenge of his own on Stark.

Life has changed for Em Watts in huge ways since an accident at Stark Enterprises. For one thing she is no longer herself but, had a brain transplant with the head of Stark Enterprises Nikki Howard. Life is a little crazy for Em especially since Nikki's brother shows up asking for help finding their lost Mother. Or how the guy that Em is in love with has no idea that she's alive, literally. Not to mention how things are bit more than strange at Stark Enterprises when she finds out that there is a good chance that they may be stalking her! Now it is up to Em to settle into her new life as Nikki Howard and still conquer all of her problems from both her new life and her old!

Thoughts

Let me just say that I LOVED this book! I love all of Meg Cabot's books and the Airhead series is definitely a favorite. Airhead was a lot of fun to read so I was really excited to read Being Nikki. When I first began reading I had some pretty high expectations and I was really happy about the fact that the plot was secret so I had no idea what to expect. At some points in the book there were times when I didn't like some of Em's decisions but, for the most part I really enjoyed reading Being Nikki. I especially loved how the book ended. I don't want to give out any spoilers but after finishing Being Nikki, I definitely cannot wait to read the next book in the series!

What would you do if you were a normal high school girl
living a pretty good life, when all of a sudden youve got a body of a
supermodel?  Thats what happened to Em
Watts or should I say Nikki?  Nikki is
back in Meg Cabots new Being Nikki and who new that the former Nikkis life
could have been so messed up?  When Em
finds out that Nikki had a brother when he shows up in her apartment building
and tells her that his Mother is missing, Nikki and her friends try to find his
mother, but will the be able to do it?
And at the same time Em is juggling her love emotions over her former
best friend Christopher, but he doesnt know that she is still alive only in a
different body and is trying to seek revenge of Stark Enterprises, which he
sees is the reason that his best friend is so called dead.  And when Nikki finds out that the former
Nikki that was said to have died because of a rare amorism might just be alive&.well,
find out what happens next by reading Being Nikki by Meg Cabot!

I was really excited when I got Being Nikki because I have
read the first in the series, Airhead and loved it!  I dont think that the sequel was quite as
good, but a lot of times they arent.
Nikkis life was so exciting and unpredictable, you never new what would
happen next, if you would predict one thing, something totally different could
happen!  Meg Cabots writing is fabulous
and she really knows how to capture a reader and get them to keep reading I
was up until 1:00 A.M. last night reading it!
I thought that at times the story was a little bit slow though.  I really did like this book though and will
keep reading this series!
