Jamie is the precher's child. She's the perfect little angel and never does anything wrong. Landen is the rebel, doesn't care about rules, school or anything. They fall in love but Jamie is keeping a secret. She has cancer, treatment didn't work.
This book is amazing. The movie is also amazing.
I recommend it to EVERYONE!

A Walk to Remember has to be, by far, my favorite Nicholas Sparks novel. The love shared between Landon and Jamie is truly inspirational. Though it may have started out roughly, you can't help but to wish for the type of love and relationship that they have. It's every persons dream to have that special someone that they can count on to be there for them no matter the circumstances.

A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks is a book that I thoroughly enjoyed. With its honest portrayal of first love and also first heartbreak-- Sparks created an amazing story that will capture and identify with his readers. Landon is exactly the kind of guy that everyone loves-- and his transformation throughout the book made him that much better. Jamie and her father were also very well written, especially the aspect of Jamie's mother being gone-- very real.

This book definitely made me cry. It's the kind of book that I save for a rainy day-- very sad and very hard to get through the end without getting a little teary :) Sparks, as always, pulls at the heartstrings and does so flawlessly and with great descriptions. His writing seems very comfortable and at ease, which I always find admirable with writers. Nothing seems forced, which is why this love story comes off as believable instead of cheesy.

I loved it. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good love story!

This book was absolutley amazing. It kept me on the edge of my seat. It was a story of how strong teen love can truly be and the love conquers all. Landon and Jamie come from different backgrounds and had nothing to do with each other until an incident where Landon needed a date. From getting to know each other in new ways, Landon learns what life is really about. It is only when Jamie becomes very weak and ill that Landon learns miracles can happen.

Normally im not a fan of Nicholas Sparks, but after seeing the movie version, I had to read A Walk to Remember. THe story line is incredible, especially to a hopeless romantic like myself. I found the love between these two teenagers so amazing, even at such a young age when I first read it.

I recommend this to EVERYONE..the story teaches you so much about not only yourself but others as well. also, even if you don't like sparks, go for it. its the only book of his i enjoy...

Every April, when the wind blows from the sea and mingles with the scent of lilacs, Landon Carter remembers his last year at Beaufort High. It was 1958, and Landon had already dated a girl or two. He even swore that he had once been in love. Certainly the last person in town he thought he'd fall for was Jamie Sullivan, the daughter of the town's Baptist minister. A quiet girl who always carried a Bible with her schoolbooks, Jamie seemed content living in a world apart from the other teens. She took care of her widowed father, rescued hurt animals, and helped out at the local orphanage. No boy had ever asked her out. Landon would never have dreamed of it. Then a twist of fate made Jamie his partner for the homecoming dance, and Landon Carter's life would never be the same. Being with Jamie would show him the depths of the human heart and lead him to a decision so stunning it would send him irrevocably on the road to manhood. . .

This book was astounding, but it was way to short. Sparks caught me in with the very first paragraph. I was interesting from beginning to end.

You know, there so much rep about Nicholas Sparks and him being one of the best story tellers of the last few decades, so I had a lot of expectations with this novel. Let me tell you, it did not let me down a bit.

From what i've heard his telling of the 50's was acurate. Landon Carter seemed like the typical High School prankster. Jamie Sullivan was like the sweet girl that every class has. When they were drawn together it gave this book the perfect spark. The ending had that problem that you knew was going to happen but didn't really expect it. This novel was astonishing.

I completely cannot wait to go to the library to get another one of his books to read. I'm exstatic.

this book was one of the best that i have read. Spark relates carson story in a way that would make the reader want to continue not likeothers where after the first chapter you want to put th e book down.

The things that happen in the story sadly are thing that are relatable to many teens. i would definetly recommend this book to anyone who is will to have an open mind while reading it and not judge the characters upon first meeting them.

This book was a uniquely written book about sophisticated young love. It approaches teenage love through with a religious atonement quality which is unparalleled. It chronicles a period in young and dynamic Landon Carter's life where he finds love in an unexpected place followed closely by heartbreak. The movie did not do it justice.

A Walk to Remember is absolutely one of my favorite books of all time. Yes, it made me cry, but it was worth every tear. I hate the fact that Jamie dies, but knowing that she got her wedding and the perfect guy makes up for it completely. I highly recomend this book.
