This book was amazing. I cried like a baby towards the end. It was very inspiring as well though. Julie and Sam are best friends, inseperable, they both are dancers as well. Then Julie is diagnosed with cancer. That's when everything changes. She finds out she's terminal nothing can save her. She has to leave her dancing just when they were about to do this great performance, she has to leave school, and the worst part she needs to leave her bestfriend Sam and her family forever. Everything she goes through is in the book, hair loss, being always tired, losing alot of weight, all because of the chemo, but throughout the whole book Sam's always there for her. It's a beautiful book, anyone who has had someone in their life have cancer, or someone that has a friendship that's so strong , should defenetly read it. I loved it.

My mom was at the library and thought I would like this book because i am a dancer. I started reading it because i had nothing else to read and thought i would give it a try. It turned out being the best and most heartwarming book I have ever read and probably ever will read. This book made me cry, but think differently about many aspects of life.

Sam and Jules have been best friends since they were nine, brought together by dancing. Now they are sixteen and still dancing, but with the troubles of school, guys and family with them. Jules hasn't been feeling good for some time and when she is diagnosed with cancer, her whole world is turned upside down. Jules goes to place where Sam can't follow her, and the two gradually start to pull apart. After having chemo, Jules is feeling strong enough to dance again and Sam and Jules get back their freindship. Then Jules learns that the cancer hasn't gone away, and she knows that she will die. Sam and Jules spend precious last minutes together, efore Sam is to go away on tour with the dance company. Just as they are about to board the plane, Sam gets the news that Jules has gone into a coma and will not wake up. Sam gets to the hospital in time to say goodbye to her one and only, before Jules dies. I loved this book so much, because it was really touching and really explored all the emotions people can feel. There was an especially big emotional climax when Sam finally lets Jules go, and i cried it was so powerful.

Friends forever, friends for life, friends for all eternity not even death can separate us. In the case of Julie and Sam this might be true. Julie and Sam have been best friends since practically forever, they share a love for dancing in fact that's how they met at a dancing studio. Both girls are glued together, you cant see Julie without Sam being close behind or vise versa, but when during their junior year Julie gets diagnosed with cancer their plans for their future together is shattered in a dream of pain and loss. Slowly but surely everything starts to fall apart in Jules and Sam's life. Can their friendship last? Will the pain of enduring cancer be too much? I absolutely loved this book it showed me what true friendship was all about, since the book is narrated from both girls point of view, I got to experience to different worlds in one. This book is amazing, I recommend it to anyone, although I might warn you you’re in for real water works, I cried for like 30 minutes at the end its like you can feel the characters pain. Davida Wills Hurwin did a wonderful job with this book; it will touch your heart and take you through “A Time for Dancing”.

I read a lot of books, and this one really got to me. I thought about this book for a long time after I read it. This is the first book I actually sobbed! I think it was very well written and made you stop and think. Definently read The Farther You Run as well.

This book is absolutely amazing. I cried my eyes out when reading it. It is about a young girl who get cancer at the age of 16. Its really touching. The best part about it is the way Davida Herwin captured it. It's told in two different first perspectives, by the girl with cancer and her best friend. It shows that a disease like this effect everyone. If your don't tear up while reading this you are not human.
