Zora, The Story Keeper has a vibrant tone that comes through with the text and the illustrations. Zora has a special relationship with her Aunt Bea. Aunt Bea can tell family stories in a way that is exciting and vibrant. The author and illustrator bring her tales to life so well that upon her death I had a tear in my eye. Zora is gifted Aunt Bea’s family albums and the role to become the new family storykeeper. This book does an excellent job of feeling realistic and conveying the love of the family and the strong family bonds passed down through the generations.
Parental note: Aunt Bea does die in the story and Zora is finding her new normal.
