Author: Wendy Higgins

Book: Hardcover, 512 pages

Expected publication: March 7th, 2017

Publisher: Harper Teen

Lochlanach has traded the great beast for something far more terrible, a Lashed enemy veiled in beauty, deception, and a vengeance passed down through generations: Rozaria Rocato. And she’s offering the hunter Paxton Seabolt power and acceptance he could never receive in his homeland. Pax must decide how far he’s willing to go under her tutelage, knowing she is the opponent of Princess Aerity Lochson.

In a land where traditionalists dread change, the Lochlan throne must contend with mysterious foes and traitors, while attempting to keep revolt at bay. As dire circumstances strike the royal family, matters of the castle are left in Aerity’s hands. It’s time to put aside her fears and grasp the reign, taking actions that have the potential to save or destroy her people.

One hunt has ended, but the pursuit for love and justice continue. In this sequel to The Great Hunt from New York Times bestselling author Wendy Higgins, political intrigue and romance intensify in another thrilling fantasy. Princess Aerity embraces a quest for identity and passion before making the ultimate sacrifice for her kingdom.

Why Beth chose The Great Pursuit:

I am a HUGE fan of Wendy Higgins and absolutely love all of her work! I read The Great Hunt in about two days and it was AMAZING!

Fairy tale writing at its best!! I literally could not wait to get my hands on the sequel to see what happens with Aerity and all of the amazing characters in this book!!

And The Trees Crept In by Dawn Kurtagich

Book: Hardcover, 352 pages

Expected publication: September 6th, 2016

A stunning, terrifying novel about a house the color of blood and the two sisters who are trapped there, by The Dead Houseauthor Dawn Kurtagich

When Silla and Nori arrive at their aunt’s home, it’s immediately clear that the “blood manor” is cursed. The creaking of the house and the stillness of the woods surrounding them would be enough of a sign, but there are secrets too–the questions that Silla can’t ignore: Who is the beautiful boy that’s appeared from the woods? Who is the man that her little sister sees, but no one else? And why does it seem that, ever since they arrived, the trees have been creeping closer?

Filled with just as many twists and turns as The Dead House, and with achingly beautiful, chilling language that delivers haunting scenes, AND THE TREES CREPT IN is the perfect follow-up novel for master horror writer Dawn Kurtagich.

Why Beth chose And The Trees Crept In:

A haunted house story with a creepy setting? YEP ALL ME!!!

I love a good scary story so when I saw this book was coming out…I knew I had to have it! A horror story with a haunted house….CANT WAIT!!!

Author: Rae Carson

Book: Hardcover, 432 pages

Expected publication: September 27th, 2016

Publisher: Greenwillow Books

After a harrowing journey across the country, Leah Westfall and her friends have finally arrived in California and are ready to make their fortunes in the Gold Rush. Lee has a special advantage over the other new arrivals in California—she has the ability to sense gold, a secret known only by her handsome best friend Jefferson and her murdering uncle Hiram.

Lee and her friends have the chance to be the most prosperous settlers in California, but Hiram hasn’t given up trying to control Lee and her power. Sabotage and kidnapping are the least of what he’ll do to make sure Lee is his own. His mine is the deepest and darkest in the territory, and there Lee learns the full extent of her magical gift, the worst of her uncle, and the true strength of her friendships. To save everyone, she vows to destroy her uncle and the empire he is building—even at the cost of her own freedom.

The second epic historical fantasy in the Gold Seer trilogy by Rae Carson, the acclaimed author of The Girl of Fire and Thorns.

Why Beth chose Like A River Glorious:

I loved Walk On Earth A Stranger and loved the feel of the western setting mixed with fantasy! It was a perfect mix and the romance was great also! I enjoyed everything about the story and am really looking forward to the rest of the journey for Leah and her friends!!
