The perks of being a reader is that you can pick up this amazing book and relish in it.
The book offers a realistic portrayal of teenagers and highschool. This isn't some petty book about the superficial and dramatic lives of students. The book provides poignant insight into the life of "Charlie" and the obstacles in his life. A melancholy sort of coming of age story that is bound to make you rethink aspects of your life. Honestly, a great read.

This book is the most incredible book I have ever read. It reaches ever point of a teen's tough and unexpecting life. He captures the moments of the good and the bad, and touches your heart. I personally am in love with this book, and it's my favorite book of all time. I suggest you read it, and you will understand how much I enjoyed this book. You can relate to it so much. <3

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is the most stunning and poignant book i have ever read. What a thought-provoking peice of art! This is without-a-doubt my favorite book of all time. And yes, i have read the classics: the catcher in the rye, a separate peace, a room of one's own, the bell jar, lord of the flies, of mice and men, the odessey, a midsummer night's dream... THIS IS THE BEST! read it if you are in search of the real.

i have read hundreds of books, and this one is number one on my list. i thought that this was the best damn book i have ever read. i've read it probably about ten times already. i can totaly relate to charlie and everything that he's going through in this book. i wish the kid was actually a real person, so he could be my best friend. this book is full of sex, drugs, music, and well basicly everything that goes on in every teenagers life.
i think that steven chbosky did an amazing job writing this book. whenever i talk to anyone about books, which is almost anybody that i come in contact with, i always recomend this book for them to read, and every person that i know that has read it, absolutly loved it. chbosky plese come out with some more awsome books for me to read.

Charlie knows you. Not personally, but he's heard a thing or two about you, and he thinks you would really understand some of this. Because this isn't like a diary, although it is similiar. And he doesn't know how much effect his will have on you, or if you even care, but he still feels he needs to share it with you, and he hopes you understand.

Well, Charlie, I understood. And I'm very greatful you decided to share this with me!

This is the story of Charlie, a boy who has just started his first year of high school. With this football star brother, and valedictorian sister, he feels completely overwelmed, especially since his only friend had commited suicide not so long ago.

Making friends with Patrick "or Nobody," depending on how far into the story you are)and soon after his sister Sam, he quickly blands into the group, and falls in love with not only Sam, but "the world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show."

Patrick and Sam are constantly trying to get Charlie to "participate," but seeing as his only friends are all seniors and will soon be gone, he finds it a bit hard. He does try though. Honestly, with all the effort a 16 year old boy has!

In the epilogue, things quickly crash for Charlie, which lands him in the hospital... that is never a good experience.

This book waas awesome. Amazing. Touching. I read for hours on end, and once it was over, I was praying it wasn't. I felt like I could really relate to Charlie ... even though the point of the book was that he felt not many people really could relate to him.

Everyone, you really do need to participate in life. Patrick and Sam have had the right idea all along ...

I read The Perks of Being a Wallflower when my friend bought it for my birthday. I read the entire book in one sitting, and was never the same again. This emotionally raw and brutally honest book has made such a difference in my life. It is the story of 15 year old Charlie, an adolescent dealing with the highs and lows of his life. He is a shy yet brilliant young man with an amazing capacity for affection and compassion. I cried and laughed through the entire story. I would highly recommend this to anyone. It is a little graphic though, so I wouldn't recommend children to read it. Teenagers deinitely, adults most certainly! Parents- do you want to really know what on earth is going on with your teens? This will help you understand the horror that can be adolescence. The writing is brilliantly blunt and simple, creating something that is so real and familiar to the reader. I loved this book, and find myself reading over and over again. It's definitely worth your time!

I really enjoyed this book. It was very unusual, definitely, but it far exceeded my expectations and now ranks on my top books list.

The format is something that I really liked-- the letters to an unnamed "friend" always kept me guessing who the recipient actually was. The situations in this book and the way they are written about-- wow, I can't even explain. The author did a fantastic job of capturing Charlie's voice-- he seemed real to me and made a definite impact on the way I perceived others. Great emotions, great story.

Loved it.

This book is soooo incredible!! It's so hard to explain how great it was!! I love Charlie soo much and i wish i could be his friend this books is very sad. At a young age Charlie goes through something really terrible the loss of a dear friend, then when he enters high school he does not talk to anyone and has no friends but inside he is a really amazing person. He goes through many hardships, gains some great friends, goes through more hardships, but in the future you know things will be okay for him.

this book is amazingly written. steven chbosky is such a great writer, wish he wrote more great books just like this one i just love it so much i read it twice already and would read it again and again, it's that great. i even got a lot of my friends to read it. it's unfortunately very short, i really wish it didn't end so soon and that there were a sequel but there isn't. :( but oh well. recommend it to everyone!! it's great, well good for maybe 13 and above i read it when i was sixteen and it's just wow! great. please please, if you haven't read this book you have got to read it as soon as possible it's amazing you'll love it. The way it was written, in letters to some anonymous person, the characters, charlie's great personality, the story, everything is just amazing!!
