I loved this book!
Good Points
Let me first start by saying, AMAZE BALLS! Oh I loved this book I was dying to read it for sometime, with the movie coming in November I figured 2013 was my chance to complete the series! So if you have not read Catching Fire read it now, so worth it.

What I loved, of course Peeta my love muffin, the fact that Katniss is lucky enough to score a love like this she should be counting her lucky stars. Peeta has a new found love of painting which I love because I too am a painter. As Katniss and Peeta get ready to take off on the victory tour all things are going great. Of course Katniss's life has changed along with everyone else in District 12, Gale included. I love the new relationships that have formed and that Peeta and Katniss help the people of District 12 like Gale's family. I also love the fashion in this book, OH Cinna make me a dress, I want the fashions, to some they seem so different but that just adds to the awesome factor. OK OK I don't want any bird claws or weird fish eyes, that I draw the line.

I love the developing love between Katniss and Peeta, I think that Katniss needs to let go of Gale and move on to someone she cares about so much. The love triangle is driving me mad already. I love the uprising going on and that Katniss is so blind to her power. That just shows her age. Also I am kind of tired of the bratyness (if that is a word) that Katniss shows throughout the book. Again Suzanne Collins writes so beautifully the pages fly by and with each one I am in tears, laughter or uproar! Thank you Suzanne.

What I didn't like Pres. Snow just his name makes me make a face that is disgust. Adding to it why does he smell of blood? YUCK Surprise without the spoiler, what Katniss does in front of the GameKeepers priceless!!! Read and you will agree.

Catching Fire will keep you reading, wanting and loving this world. My favorite district you may ask GO 13 what there is no 13? we shall see then..........

BUY IT, READ IT and then in November WATCH IT....... So Amaze Balls

I LOVE this series and this book!!! An amazing sequel to the first book “the hunger games” (written by Suzanne Collins). In Catching Fire there is never a dull moment. Its a fast paced book for people who can take a sad part (or in this book multiple).
In the hunger games Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark (the star-crossed lovers from district 12) have made it out of the 74th Annual Hunger Games a fight to the death (only one is supposed to win) but Katniss and Peeta found a way to make it out of there together and alive. Now Katniss and Peeta are to go back into the arena to fight to the death again in the third “Quarter-Quell” in this any victor who has won the hunger games in the past is reaped and put back into the arena. Will Katniss and Peeta make it out alive for the second time? Or will it be the end of the star-crossed lovers form district 12?
Katniss is the main character. She must fight for her family but hunting out of the woods and survive a fight to the death not once but twice! Peeta has had a crush on Katniss for as long as he can remember. A backers son, he cares so much about Katniss. The main story takes place in the arena, which can change from a frozen wasteland to a barren dessert.
Katniss and Peeta have to face the arena again knowing that there is probably no chance that they will make it out alive considering that there are bigger and stronger people in the arena this time.
The whole book is interesting the entire time. Because of the twist on the seres it keeps you asking for more...
Good Points
~It has amazing characters that you love from the start but also some characters who you can hate but Suzanne Collins does a great job of making their personality's perfect.
~The story line is amazing! It keeps the entire book interesting
~One of the most well written book I have ever read. Everything makes perfect sense and is easy to understand

Even though they’re out of the arena, the games are still not over for Katniss and Peeta. They must now go on tour and keep up their lovers routine, in order to placate the Capitol, who views their triumph as an act of rebellion. And Katniss is now the face of this rebellion even if she didn’t mean to.

Catching Fire didn’t immediately draw me in like the previous book did. Katniss’ life is so different, with the endless supply of food, money, and luxuries. She’s still her same fierce self, for the most part, but now she’s being dragged down by uncertainties. Can she keep up her charade in front of the cameras? Can she keep her family and Gale safe? Can she even keep herself alive? While the conflict in this book is much different than the previous, it was still interesting. It didn’t have that same wow factor, or make me cringe with the violence, and at times it just felt slow. That is until around the halfway point…

I had a feeling Katniss would be thrown back into the arena. It didn’t seem right that this book would lack the excitement and violence of the games. It definitely didn’t disappoint. This Hunger Games is so different than the last one. Not only is the scenery completely different, but so are the other tributes and their strategies. Katniss is determined to stay alive as long as possible, but not to win, to make sure Peeta wins! I’m actually not sure how I feel about Peeta. He’s a sweetie, but he’s also kind of bland. I was cheering on Katniss to protect him though.

This book was much more emotional than the first. I felt horrible for Katniss and Peeta having to reenter the arena after such a short time. Again, I couldn’t figure out how this was going to end, other than Katniss surviving (or who else would narrate the last book?!). I definitely wasn’t expecting things to go the way they did, so now I must jump straight into Mockingjay!

Damn. Damn. Damn. Why didn’t I read Catching Fire sooner? I did. Two years ago. But then I stopped after reading the first 5 chapters (I think) because the pacing was just slow for me. I’m glad that I picked it up again though. I. LOVE. IT. There’s way more suspense, actions, and Katniss-Peeta moments. I love it more than the first book which is good because it would suck if the first book is better than the second. It means the story is improving! Also, I love the love triangle in this trilogy. It just flows so well.

Catching Fire is divided up into three parts. You know what’s cool? Every time you turn the page, it got better and better. The first part was kind of slow for me. Maybe because there wasn’t that much action taking place. But man! When you get to the next two parts, there’s a bunch of twist that will leave you at the edge of your seat. Literally. There’s also a lot of creepy parts especially in the third part. I was reading this before I slept and it just totally freaked me out. I really hope the movie turns out really well.

I don’t know what else to say. This book left me speechless, sad, scared, happy, and I even highlighted my book because there were a lot of good quotes! I hate writing/highlighting in my books by the way. I read it in 3 days, stayed up till one in the morning. I swear you’ll get obsessed with it, and BEFORE you read it, make sure you get a copy of Mockingjay because after you read this book, you’ll want to jump on that one right away.

Another amazing book in the trilogy! If you read the first book in the trilogy reading the second is a must read! I absolutely loved it and I'm sure anyone else will also love love love it.

Unexpected things happen in the book and it will really just make you want to read more and more and more. Really I wouldn't understand how anyone can not like it.

If you haven't read it I suggest you get your hands on it fast!

All three books in the Hunger Games are extraordinary and entirely worth reading, the characters are real and deep and well developed; but be warned the love story between Katniss and Peeta, as well as the love triangle including Gale is not what this book is about, and maybe that's the point. Like the rest of the selfish, corrupted and twisted people in the capital I'm so sucked into their love story in the Hunger Games that I overlook the senseless death that surrounds them, and I think that says something. But their relationship is something that I wish the author had given us more of. Instead the sweet moments where Katniss gets a brief moment to share with Peeta or Gale are somewhat rushed past or skipped over.
Good Points
-Wonderful story in a well developed dystopian future.

-Deep and complicated characters that you can relate to.

-This story is about the horrors of war and the corruptness of politics, and it makes these topics relateable to young adults.

I didn't find this book as traumatizing as the first one, but I think that's because the underlying current of terror was pushed to the surface and you were faced to deal with it square on, just as the characters were. My heart ached for them all, especially the tributes/victors. Hadn't they experienced enough pain and suffering? The author is amazing at writing characters that break your heart and characters that you would be terrified of if they existed in real life. I knew something like the ending was going to happen, but I hadn't quite figured it out before it happened. I cannot wait to read the next book.

This is one of the most amazing trilogy that I have ever read. The Hunger Games is one of my most favorite books just after The Knife of Never Letting Go, and Catching Fire is right up there with them. I loved the idea of the quarter quell with the winners of the previous Hunger Games coming back into the arena. I thought that this was a brilliant idea that keeps the Hunger Games spirit flying.

In this book, Katniss gets a bit wacko. The reality of the whole Hunger Games thing comes crashing down onto with a lot of force, causing her mind to get screwed up. Peeta was really the one who kept with it, but he still was different since they came out of the arena.

Catching Fire is the stunning sequel to The Hunger Games. Its full of gore, politics, and so much more. Catching Fire is the most you can ever hope for, and maybe even better.
