A young boy hears frightening sounds outside his window in the city as he goes to bed. His father helps him see that there are no monsters, just different trucks and vehicles that help the city run smoothly and explains their purpose. The illustrations do a great job of showcasing the monster on one page and then the vehicle making the sound on the next. The maroon, black, and white sets the atmosphere for this book to great effect. In the back of the book are pictures and fun facts about the vehicles of the city making this suitable for younger children.
