Bob McGrew loves working in the zoo but it isn't an easy task when it's cold enough to snow because the poop turns into popsicles. According to Bob McGrew, poo is much harder to clean when it's scattered like frozen pellets. Being Christmas Eve, the zoo is bound to get a visit from Santa and Hector Gloop is so excited to catch some reindeer poo that should fall from the sky. However, they discover that one reindeer is sick so who can pull the sleigh in its place?

POO IN THE ZOO is an odd story full of humor and chasing after reindeer poop. The illustrations are vivid and silly with Hector Gloop doing leaps and bounds to find some. I like how the story starts off with poor Bob having trouble cleaning the poop and then it takes a unique turn as they try to catch it from the sky. The whimsical and bizarre writing is elevated with a lyrical rhyming scheme that makes it read like a poem.

Final Verdict: POO IN THE ZOO is a book of complete silliness and I would recommend it to children aged four and up who enjoy funny reads about animals and Christmas.
