What I loved: This is a really humorous story that is sure to make children giggle. The conversational tone has a lot of appeal for picture book readers, and the goblin is a character that is sure to charm. The illustrations are detailed and colorful, featuring a lot of fun mythological creatures with very cartoonish feel. The end resolution is cute with the goblin admiring his warning pictures without realizing they are due to the smell.
What left me wanting more: As a small point, I am not a huge fan of the poop jokes, but I know children will definitely laugh about it. Additionally, the mentions of kidnapping/trapping royalty (here, kings) is troubling.
Final verdict: A silly picture book read, DRAGONS ARE THE WORST! is sure to make young readers laugh-out-loud!
