What I liked:
If you are a fan of Supernatural and the love interest is from the Bad Boy Trope, then Hunterland is just the book for you. The story is set up in a typical high school, but one thing that makes it stand out is it is in a small town, and the teachers are randomly being killed. The characters are compelling, and the relationship between Lia and Liam got her heart pumping and was exciting to watch it unfold as she learns what his family is doing in her small town.
Final Verdict:
Parts of the story remind me of other stories like the vampire diaries in which a bunch of teenagers set out to rid the town of spirits and vampires while the rest of town has no idea the supernatural exists. The action scenes were great, the found family dynamic is a great hook, and I enjoyed the relationship between Lia and Liam. Unfortunately, the book ends on a cliffhanger, so keep in mind this series will probably continue next year.
Audiobook Review: The choice to have two narrators tell this story helped to keep me listening. It was easy to track which character's voice was telling the story and supported to add to the feel of the hunter family versus the nonhunter characters.
