P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast make a great writing team. I really liked this book and I immediately bought the next two in the series after I finished reading. Zoe is such a refreshing new heroine. She's strong, and beautiful, and she knows what she wants. But, she isn't mean, and she cares deeply for the people she knows. I hope she stays awesome and strong. But, I can tell this series is going to be a fun and interesting ride.

Zoey Redbird was an average teenager, from an average arizona suburb. Standing by her locker wishing her headache would go away. When a vampire tracker came down the hall of her average high school. To mark her as a vampire fledgling who must immediately leave her life behind, to live at the tulsa house of night.
I absolutely loved this book. What a great way to twist the story of the high school experience. A vampire high school!
Zoey is a strong heroin who stands up for what is right, and finds a wonderful group of friends to stand with her. Blessed by the goddess of night "Nix"  Zoey and her "nerd herd"  are destined for great things.
Marked is a exellent beginning to an epic teenage vampire tale!

The book Marked by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast was an absolute thriller . It has a new view at vampires. The book was dark, funny, and romantic from the start. Zoey gets marked by a vampyre and has no choice but to join the House of Night. That is where she will train to become an adult vampyre. Zoey finds her trueself and friends that she can really trust. This book keep me reading, I didn't want to put it down at all. It's a good book for teenagers.

Marked is about a girl named Zoey Redbird.  Zoey is chosen by a "tracker" to become a fledgeling of the school for vampyres, the House of Night.  As she makes a transition from normal life to the life of a vampyre, she must undergo something that every other fledgeling must: the Change.  Upon completion of the Change, the fledgelings will begin to turn into an adult vampyre.  Some, however, may not survive this change.  While Zoey undergoes this change, she must try to adapt to her new life, being away from her family and trying to make new friends.  However, Zoey is different from the other fledgelings; she has been granted special powers by Nyx, the vampyre Goddess.  With these powers, Zoey must stop the leader of a group called the Dark Daughters, who has been abusing her gifted powers.  Will Zoey be able to take down this elitist group of Daughters with help from her new friends?

This series (in my opinion) is AMAZING. The heroine isnt as wimpy as Bella from twilight (sorry twilight fans, to me shes wimpy). She actually tries to take matters into her own hands and has boy troubles, but isnt all dependent on him. Its a great series, but Id say you should be at least 13 before reading it

Summary:
Zoey Redbird has found out she is a "fledgeling", or turning into a vampire. When she goes to her local vampre school, the Tusla "House of Night" she meets some new friends and learns more about herself. She also has to deal with the bratty but powerful 'Aphrodite'. With unexpected betrayals and surprising friendshipsm, this is my all time favorite vampire/romance seires.

Wow this book was so awesome I didn't want it to end. From the first page I was sucked in. It was like Harry Potter but vampires..and sooo much more sophisticated. This mother and daughter team really know how to write a book! I am absolutely in LOVE with main character Zoey. Ever since becoming "marked" she becomes this strong-take-no-mess-from-no-one type of girl. She's not intimidated by Aphrodite who's considered the school bully with goddess powers. She plays her cards right and always consults the goddess Nyx before making any moves. And to think..all she was ever hoping for was to fit in. She didn't fit in, but made her own path.I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

This was such an AWESOME BOOK!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!! I love the whole series. The plot and the characters rocked!

Zoey Redbird gets Marked at school and has to go to The House of Night, a vampyre vinishing school. Once she gets there she realizes she is special. She is the only fledgling in history to have a filled in crescent moon on her forhead. She is very special. She meets her new roomate Stevie Rae Johnson, who is definitely a big okie! When the go to dinner, she introduces Zoey to the group of kids named Shaunee, Erin, and Damien. They all become friends but then Zoey gets invited to the Dark Daughter Ritual which is lead by a "hateful hag from hell" named Aphrodite La fonte. Nobody likes her but Zoey takes her up on the offer. She goes to the ritual and thought it was horrible and ran out when it was over and Eric came to help her. Eric is a really sweet guy and totally hot and Zoey finds herself getting into a relationship with him. They become BF/GF and he walks her back to her dorm.  Zoey tells Stevie Rae everything that happened and then they went to bed. The next day (night) was Zoey's first night of school. Day and night are flipped there. She has a good time and then starts to worry about the next Dark Daughters Ritual which turned out to be a mess. Aphrodite got them mixed into this mess with ghosts and knocked out security guards to a museum and that is when Zoey uses her power which is to provoke the five elements to make them go away.  The High Prestiess, Neferet, says that Zoey is then the leader of the Dark Daughter. Zoey feels pain on her forhead and come to find out that she has a tattoo on her forhead. She tries to convince Aphrodite that they can be friends but Aphrodite doesn't buy it.

It was a really good book and i advise anyone at all to read it.

Very good book! at first i was scared for her also that she got marked and didnt know what to do or how to tell her parents...and even her boyfriend and his friends were afraid of her when she got marked! then she saw the goddess nyx. And she specially marked zoey! And zoey got special powers that no other fledgling has! then there is a change that everyone has to go threw to actually become a "vampyre" as they spell it. and theres a group of dark daughters and the worst girl is the leader. then a kid dies because he didnt make the change. And he comes back and sorta haunts zoey. Then in the end the leader of dark daughters messes up and zoey becomes leader...thats just to make it short! hahaha

in the book house of night book :marked i like how the auther put her own type of vampyre myth. In the book it sounds like you dont get bit rather you get marked by there goddess and not everyone can undergo the transformation but the story is a great read and i have just finnished the book and about to go and buy book two. Granted  that this book is more for older teens cause it does have it parts that are very sexual and descriptive but overall again a great read for all reader that like vampyre books
