This is about a girl named Zoey who  has been marked meaning she has to go to the school for vampires the house of night. She has ordinary problems as every teenage girl but the only difference is she's a vampire. This novel has typical teen topics like drama , gossip  ,catfights parties and popular people. On her first day at the house of night  she made some friends and some enemies. She found out the reason everyone stared at her was because she was a special fledgling/student. She has a rivalry with the prettiest girl in school. Can she survive high school that's the question especially if she's a vampire who might die if she dosen't handle the change well. Overall this is a good start to the series and it is quite suspenceful with some unexpected twists.

Zoey Redbird has just been marked. Marked by the vampyre goddess Nyx who also gives her extraordinary powers that she does not discover until close to the end of the book. Zoey is going through major changes in her life, 1. she is no longer human, 2. she's going to a whole new school 3. she is different from the rest of the third former fledglings. Her mark on her forehead was completely colored in way ahead of time, she craving blood before any of her friends are, and she has affinity for all five elements: spirit, air, water, fire, earth which is how P.C. & Kristin Cast mix supernatural things with magic. Vampyres that use magic to save the day. Anyway there's a group called the Dark Daughters and they invite her to join hoping that she wouldn't want to join and she didn't want to but she knew she had to so she could have access to take over the evil leader Aphrodite and change the group. Zoey didnt want all this to happen; she only wanted to be a normal vampyre. In the end Zoey is the new leader of the Dark Daughters and on a new mission to change the regulations required to join the Dark Daughters.

Mark is about this girl named Zoey. Zoey has just been marked as a vampyre. Now she must move away from her friends and family and start over at a vampyre school. If that isn't hard enough, her crescent (that all vampyre's have), is mature and all ready filled completely in, even though it's not supposed to be filled in yet. And some vampyres' bodies do not accept the change from human to vampyre, and they die in the process.

I like this book because it's unique. The authors really put a lot of thought and imagination into this book (and series). They didn't go with the cliché of vampires, instead they started their own thoughts and ideas on them. It really is a good book.

Zoey is a normal teenager that attends high school. She's not overly popular, but she is well liked. She always has a loser almost-boyfriend and a dysfunctional family. One day, that all comes crashing down. She gets marked, on her forehead, a crescent moon. Meaning, that her body is changing into a vampyre and she must move away from her friends and family and attend a house of night school.

More than anything, Zoey wants to fit in at her new school. She doesn't want to be a loner, and she wants to make friends. She's afraid what all the other vampyres' in changing will think when her crescent is more mature than the rest, even though she's only just started the change.

I liked this book a lot. It is DEFINITELY unique. In this book there are 5 elements that play a key role in this story. Wind, Earth, Fire, Water and the Soul. Also what makes this book unique and interesting is how all the vampyre teens attend their own little school, in which their bodies undergo changes. Some teenagers' bodies don't accept the change and die. It's just a unique book to read and it's one of my favorites.

In Zoey Redbirds world, vampyres are tolerated in the human world. Those special enough to get marked are enrolled into the House of Night, a school where there are only two choices: survive and become a vampyre or die because the body had rejected the Change. At first, Zoey is frightened about going to the House of Night but with her grandmothers help, is able to make it there. Her mark from the Goddess Nyx is special as it gives her power beyond her age. She matures faster than those her age and has to face with bloodlust, something that only older students would face, as well as the ability to Imprint her ex-almost-boyfriend. However, at the school, she finds true friendship, loyalty, romance and magic that she has never seen before. However, lies and mistrust lurks everywhere. Zoey soon finds that not everything is as it seems in the vampyre world and she must take action to fix it. The plotline is very fast, way too fast at the end but it is full of suspense as well. The reader is able to relate to the protagonist, Zoey, since she is a high school student as well. The book was very intense and kept me at the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading it.

I definitely loved this book. Which would explain why I finished it all in one day. The story was captivating and though you have to learn alot about the vampyres (love this spelling, by the way) the story is spellbounding. Though I do have to say that I was surprised to find a lot of grammatical and spelling mistakes in the book. But I guess that's the editor to blame. Also, I read the acknowledgements and noticed that Kristin Cast helped with alot of the teenage lingo for the book. But at certain parts of the dialogue, I felt that the wordings were too forced. As if the authors were really trying to sound teen, and it showed crudely. Some expressions seemed too forced and the spellings of them are not the way one might actually write them. Besides those little things, I actually liked the book. There are still a lot of unanswered questions which makes me want to run to the closest book store to buy Betrayed, the sequel. It is definitely a series that I would like to continue reading and happily recommend to anyone.

This book took a while to get started. The main character discovers she needs to go to a vampire school after being marked. It's kind of cheezy, but good and kept me from putting it back down. The authors were bold enough to incorporate swearing in the dialogue which most authors try to avoid doing, but swearing is a part everyday life so it made it more realistic. The best touch is the tattoos that are the mark given to vampires. The length is perfect as well. I gave this book a 5. It's no twilight, but I still think it's quite good.

Zoey is your normal, everyday high school student. That is, until one day she gets Marked. In her world, vampyres have always existed and been accepted in society. Getting Marked means she will become a fledgling vampire. However, just being Marked does not guarantee that she will live to become an adult vampyre. Not everyone who is Marked survives the Change.
She must leave her friends and family and move to the House of Night, a school where she will train to become an adult vampyre. Zoey also discovers that she has been chosen by the vampyre Goddess Nyx to receive unique powers. But with her speedy development as a vampyre comes bloodlust and the ability to Imprint.
Zoey is invited to join the Dark Daughters, an elite social group but soon finds out that the leader of the group, Aphrodite, is misusing her own Goddess-given abilities. Zoey must find the courage to stand up to her but fortunately she doesn't have to do it alone. Her new vampyre friends are with her every step of the way.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was different from any vampire book I've ever read. I recommend this book, especially if you're a fan of vampires.

Oh my this book was better than the Twilight series!! I want to see this on the big screen! The idea of worshiping a Goddess and the school idea. Next best to Harry Potter! This could beat out Twilight/Harry Potter in the theaters and books. It is a must read. I was immediately sucked in lol!

Marked, by P.C Cast and Kristin Cast, was abvout a girl(Zoey)who got marked. Has to either had to go to go to the House of night and hopefully becomea vampyre later in life , or just don't go and die. When she got to the House of Night she met a girl from oklahoma, and had an accent. Before you complete the change as a vampyre, you are called a fledging. Shje is not just a normal fredging, but one who has been choosen by the goddess Nyx. The goddess also gives her the affinity for feeling all five powers. She not only has to worry about that, she has to worry baout bloodlust and the ability to imprint with her human ex-boyfriend. But then she notices the leader of the Dark Daughters, the most "popular" group of the school, is misusing the gifts given by Nyx. Zoey must find a way to do something baout this problem with a little help of her new friends.
