Ever wonder what rich New York City girls live like? Gossip Girl is the first of a series of 10 books. Blair Waldorf is one of the good looking seniors in the all girl school, Upper East Side, while her boyfriend Nate goes to St. Judes, an all boys school. Life is about to change since Blairs best friend Serena van der Woodsen just came back from being kicked out of boarding school. Serena comes back looking better than Blair.
Nate was already turning to go, striding back down the hall to see if it could possibly be true. Had Serena van der Woodson really come back? The movie of Blairs life had taken a sudden, tragic turn.

With some books I can guess what happens, with this book is not as predictable. I loved this book so much since I enjoyed everything thing going on, like all the fights and feelings of everyone. The characters in the book all have wealthy, fabulous lives, but have the usual problems like boys, school, and friends. All the problems have a twist.
Blair is having problems with her boyfriend, Nate because he is interested in Serena more than Blair. Blair is extremely jealous, making it even worse. Serena only looks at Nate as a friend and nothing more. Serenas beauty just attracts any guys that see her. Will Blair stay with Nate? Will Serenas beauty ruin her friendship with Blair? Also, college is almost a year a way and Blair is thinking ahead of herself trying to join every club possible to get into her dream school.
I rate Gossip Girl five stars out of five because I love this book better than any other book. There is so much drama I can relate to, and the book just excites me. With every page I read there is another one I want to turn. I guarantee you will want to read all the books in the series after you are finished with the first one. There are ten books total; the next one is Gossip Girl: You Know You Love me.
I recommend this book to any teenage girl. If you interested in any kind of drama or gossip not involving you, this book is for you. The book is interesting and draws you in with all the problems.

Well, it was a pretty intresting book, but I didn't really think it was that good. My friends were always telling me about how great the Gossip Girl books are, but honestly, I don't think that they were that great... I think that a lot of younger girls (Ages 9-12) are reading these books, and they are highly inappropriate for girls that age. These books are about young women at the ages of 18 and there are some terms in the books that young girls (Ages 9-12) should not be reading about, or should not even know about. I would reccomend this book to the older girls, but only if they want to read about a bunch of spoiled rich girls who go to a private catholic school and go to exclusive parties. (By the way, this supports fashion magazines that have super-skinny, air-brushed models in them, and it supports that girls should be super skinny and Blair in the book has an eating disorder. If younger girls read this book, they might think that they should be just like them, wearing size 0 clothes, and whatnot. I think that girls should be comfortable in their own skin and they should not be judged and they should not have to fit in the tiniest sizes. Besides, most models are airbrushed so that they are skinnier than what they normally are.)

A peek into high class, Upper East Side living, private school going, designer clothes wearing rich teen's lives. Everyone is rich and beautiful and just might stab each other in the back. When Blair's former best friend Serena returns from a year at a European boarding shcool, she threatens Blair's spot on top of the social strata that she has been enjoying in Serena's absence.

I definitely recommend this delicious piece of chick lit because the characters are just as rich, snobby and evil as you would hope! Still, while all of the characters might seem to be rich, snobby carbon copies of each other, they are all very different! I can't wait to read the whole series!

The Gossip Girl was not what I was expecting. I assumed it was a book about high-class teens (which it is) who aren't as bad as they really are. They all do drugs and drink beer at the age of 17. But it also gives the story a good twist. It shows how not everyone is a goodie-goodie. It also is very descriptive on everything it describes. It's so intruiging I finished the book in one day! Definately should read this series.

'Gossip Girl' by Cecily Von Ziegesar is about teenage life in New York City. The deceiving, scandal, and back stabbing. At first I thought it to be just like any other rich girl book, but I really ended up enjoying it. The other gossip girl books are just as good too. Read them all.

Gossip Girl is the first book in this addictive series by Cecily Von Ziegesar. It follows the lives of some senior girls and boys who are the prince and princesses of the Upper East Side. Everyone partys hard, wears magnificent designer clothes, has enough money to never work in their lives, and goes to the best private schools in the NYC. Enter the world of deceit, lies, and gossip.

This book isn't the greatest literary piece out there, but it's a light read and thoroughly enjoyable. Its easy to love Gossip Girl since many dream of living the lavish lifestyle that these teens live in, and also, everyone gossips, and you love the absurdity of the gossip that flows from these teens' mouths. The characters, though spoiled rotten, are very well developed. Many change through out the series and you love them even more, or start hating what they become.

There's also a twist. Throughout the book, and the series, there is one Upper East Sider that is known as 'Gossip Girl' and posts all of her sitings, thoughts and comments about the main characters on her personal website, but you never know who she is.

I would recommend this book to readers who are looking for a light read and a little teenage controversy. Its mostly for girls, but boys can definitely check it out and dream of all the gorgeous girls described in the book.

Yep, the title says it all. Gossip and girls. Addicting...

Set in New York City, it tells the story of the Upper East Side priveledged girls. They have the looks and money. They are fabulous- smart and gorgeously dressed. There parents allow them to party and drink, as long as they keep up there grades and social status.

There lives contain jealousy, betrayal, and lots of dirty gossip.

Gossip Girl is the mysterious tabloider that keep tracks of all the scandulous ongoings.

Blair had become the 'It' girl after her best friend, Serena, moves to boarding school. But now the splended and awed Serena is back and Blair is jealous at losing her spot to Serena.

Juicy and intoxicating read!
