I'll admit it, this was once a guilty pleasure of mine. They mystery of Gossip Girl and the lives of Blair, Serena, Jenny, Dan, Vanessa, and all the others are impossible to resist.

When Serena comes back, rumers float around. Blair wants nothing to do with her because she's the new queen bee, and doesn't want to be second best ever again. She has Nate, popularity, everything.

The characters are shallow, weak, eager to please, stoners...I could go on. But it's difficult to look away from a trainwreck waiting to happen...and the chance to solve the mystery. Who is Gossip Girl?

I love the gossip girl series. Its filled with gossip, scandal, and mischief. Its exciting to see how the other half lives in their upper east side apartments. It fun to see how they party and still, somehow do well in school. You are able to see how their social circle works. Who's the leader and which ones are the newbies? Reading gossip girl is addicting. I didntthink i would like this type of book, but I love it!

I read this book in 7th grade. when i started reading it i thought to myself 'wow, this book is really trashy, but still very good and interesting.'i kept reading and couldn't stop. i got alot of my girlfriends to start reading them. and now that the show is out were thrilled, its better than i could have ever imagined seeing it on tv than just in my mind. (i do have to be honest though i thought dan would be alot more nerdy and dorky!) when gossop girl comes on every week, i record it on my tv, and all of my friends sleepover and we sit down and watch it together. to laugh, cry, and yell at the characters for the things they did, and didn't. gossip girl is a great book and tv series and i would recomend it to anyone looking for great drama and excitment. my favorite character by far deffinatly is blaire, her courage, strength, and desire to take serinas place while shes gone reminds me of my life and my school. i love gossip girl! i need to get the other books, im really behind! but it must be doing well there are so many books, so little time! i hope gossip girl is still out untill i die, becase i will still be reading and watching.

Do you like Sex & The City? Well here are the books for the younger set, for us teenagers. Gossip Girl - about betrayal, gossip - obviously, and the lives of the rich Upper East Side residents. The book revolves mainly around six characters:
Vanessa: an ambitious emo/goth who wants to be a film maker.
Nate: a rich, hot guy who lives in the Upper East Side.
Jenny: not to so rich, a big-boobed freshman.
Dan: Jenny's brother, a poet who is in love with Vanessa
Serena: the most beautiful, and the richest girl in the whole story who gets all the guys
Blair: the rich bitch who is Nate's girlfriends
The book focuses mostly on how rich the girls are and how they use/waste their money. Readers, it seems, in my experience, become very jealous of the charachter's unsubstantial yet exciting party-filled lives.
We know what happens to the girls and how they feel. I love the way Cecil Von Ziegasar tells the stories. You really should read this book. It's not very substantial because of its subject but it's a laugh and you'll have fun. Maybe, like the rest of us, you'll get hooked to them!

Gossip Girl is the first book in this addictive series by Cecily Von Ziegesar. It follows the lives of some senior girls and boys who are the prince and princesses of the Upper East Side. Everyone partys hard, wears magnificent designer clothes, has enough money to never work in their lives, and goes to the best private schools in the NYC. Enter the world of deceit, lies, and gossip.

This book isn't the greatest literary piece out there, but it's a light read and thoroughly enjoyable. Its easy to love Gossip Girl since many dream of living the lavish lifestyle that these teens live in, and also, everyone gossips, and you love the absurdity of the gossip that flows from these teens' mouths. The characters, though spoiled rotten, are very well developed. Many change through out the series and you love them even more, or start hating what they become.

There's also a twist. Throughout the book, and the series, there is one Upper East Sider that is known as 'Gossip Girl' and posts all of her sitings, thoughts and comments about the main characters on her personal website, but you never know who she is.

I would recommend this book to readers who are looking for a light read and a little teenage controversy. Its mostly for girls, but boys can definitely check it out and dream of all the gorgeous girls described in the book.

Yep, the title says it all. Gossip and girls. Addicting...

Set in New York City, it tells the story of the Upper East Side priveledged girls. They have the looks and money. They are fabulous- smart and gorgeously dressed. There parents allow them to party and drink, as long as they keep up there grades and social status.

There lives contain jealousy, betrayal, and lots of dirty gossip.

Gossip Girl is the mysterious tabloider that keep tracks of all the scandulous ongoings.

Blair had become the 'It' girl after her best friend, Serena, moves to boarding school. But now the splended and awed Serena is back and Blair is jealous at losing her spot to Serena.

Juicy and intoxicating read!

In the first book we see a group of over-priviliged high-society seniors, tightly focused on Serena, Blair, and Nate. Vanessa, Dan, and Jenny are also main characters in the book, and though they attend the same school, they are not on the same social circuit as the others.

With rotating points of views in each chapter, the reader will begin to feel sympathy for these people that most of the time people just end up envying. Like how Blair will always be ONLY second-best around Serena, thats why she tries to keep her out of the social loop.

Or with Jenny, who tries to see what its like on the other side of the looking glass and gets burned badly.

Its like the Clique series for the older teen, very good, light read.

Gossip Girl, the first novel in the series, is exactly the novel that I expected. The characters go to fancy parties, attend exclusive private schools, and party like rock stars, or NYC society girls. And yet, they also worry about grades and standardized tests, have family issues and problems with friends, and basically act like most other high school kids only with a lot more money and freedom. There's not a lot that's original about this book, and yet there are moments when it absolutely nails the experience of wealthy children like nothing else that I've read. Girls will love these books and I know that I, slightly past girlhood, will read them all.

I thought this book was fab! Although it was about rich girls, and if your not rich (like me) its annoying to read about people who have everything at there beck and call. however, the gossip that circulates in this book is amazing, and made me feel like i was actually there! its great to know some much gossip about everyone, when they dont know stuff about each other! hehehe....a definitate read for all teenage girls!

I never enjoyed reading until I picked up Gossip Girl. The first book of a now 5 book series. I loved this book. It was deffinatly the first book that opened my eyes and showed me that there is great teen reads out there. Though the characters are Rich and Famous, much different then most of us. They still give us something to relate to, teenage life. This is deffinatly a book that will suck you in and leave you wanting more...and thankfuly there is more 4 more!
