This is a delightful book for early readers on nutrition. The illustrations were fun with pictures of the fruits and vegetables mixed with doodles to animate the food and keep your attention. I was a bit worried during the introduction that it would be too hard for preschool students because there was quite a bit of text but after that, it was short and simple sentences to give the big picture of the health benefits of the food making it appropriate for younger readers. I liked the bottom of each page included the vitamins present that supported the statements the book was making that were a reference for adults and did not distract a young reader from understanding the message. I was very impressed in the back that it included food swaps for allergies or disliked food to help get food with the same benefits. There was even food mentioned that can help you pee and poop and that is sure to grab the attention of a child. Overall, this book looks excellent to use with young readers to better understand the importance of eating a variety of healthy foods.
