This is great story about a fantasy world in which fairies and leprechauns live and try to keep their world a secret to humans. They are conforted by a highly intelligent boy who would like to exploit their secrets and rule the world. Funny and well written.

A few things to say about this book. Things like Wow! The way Artemis catches a fairy and things like that. Eoin Coffer actually works it so you think your really there. This book teaches that even the most prepared plans can go wrong. Artemis Fowl is a 12-year old child and he has a higher intellect than a fully-grown adult. He is portrayed to the Fairies as cold and ruthless, but in reality, is merely trying to fulfill his family's goal as though he were the head of the house. This book is an entertaining, non-stop adventure, from a time-field, to a tunneling dwarf, to a huge lumbering troll, to a radioactive bio-bomb. This book must be covered in glue because you wont be able to put it down! Every seconds was breath taking and the idea about a secret society is almost as entertaining as the idea we are all in The Matrix. You will love this book. As you continue to read this series you will uncover more and more information about the Fairy society. You will also like this book if you like the Alex Rider series or the Eragon series. I give this book 5 stars out of 5. Absolutely fantastic!

Artemis Fowl is a criminal mastermind and he's about to prove it. Not just to humankind but also to fairykind. Fairies exist and Artemis is going to be the first to discover...or rather exploit...An interesting array of characters come into the story, all equally memorable.

This story is exciting, fast paced and just amazingly inventive. It is a book I have never gotten tired of reading!

Artemis Fowl II is a criminal mastermind. At the age of 11 he has already forged art master pieces, transferred money illegally from other people's bank accounts to his own, and done numerous other crimes. He is considered the child prodigy of all time. He has beaten the top chess masters in online matches and written books on psychology under different pseudonyms. He is also at the perfect age to believe in fairies. This is what makes him truly dangerous.
Holly Short, the first female LEP (lower elements police) recon (which is where the word leprechaun originated from) officer, is a sprite who is running low on magic. She must go to the world above ground to recharge her magic. Faeries live underground out of fear of humans. Despite the fact that faeries have magic and technology which is much superior than ours they can not win against humans. This is because humans reproduce way too often for faeries to compete. Faeries rarely reproduce and when they do it is almost always only one child. Because of this and the fact that human beings are too greedy the faeries were driven underground by humans where their existence is unknown to us.
Artemis Fowl discovers the faeries and...
This is my favorite book because the main character is very intriguing since he isnt really the good guy or the bad guy. Also the plot is very interesting and the story is very well written. I would recommend this book to all fiction and fantasy readers.

This was a truly original blend of fantasy and science-fiction I thought.I also found Artemis Fowl to be an extremely entertaining character. His clever schemes and the fact that he always had an ace up his sleeve made the book into a real page turner.Although Artemis was a great character, the other characters Holly Short and Mulch Diggums were wonderfully exceptional personalities. In all ,Artemis Fowl was an unforgettable story that anyone would enjoy reading.

This a great beginning to a wonderful series. Artemis Fowl is a great read and the addition of fairies puts this book over the hedge. Holly is one kick-but fairy who rules this novel. Artemis Fowl might not teach good moral lessons (or maybe it does) but it is funny and a smart clever read that if fun and exciting and makes you want to know more about the mysterious Artemis Fowl.

I love Artemis Fowl man. He's the epitome of cool. I knida wanna be like him. He's smart and won't take anything from anyone. He possesses a dogged determination. He did things that no one has ever done, translaing the book, escaping the time stop and evaing the blue rinse. I especially like the ending. It shows that he's not a complete monster and that he's human.
