About the Author

Mindy McGinnis is a YA author who has worked in a high school library for thirteen years. Her debut, NOT A DROP TO DRINK, a post-apocalyptic survival story set in a world with very little freshwater, has been optioned for film by Stephanie Meyer’s Fickle Fish Films. What a GORGEOUS cover. One of the prettiest I have ever seen! All the little details, the hand grabbing her foot, the way she breaks through the wood to describe the two sides of her mind–sane and mad, the BEAUTIFUL font.

Athens Asylum, now called the Ridges, part of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. I attended OU from 2003-2008 and loved to visit the Ridges. Such interesting history!

I believe the actual location for the book is The Ridges, a mental asylum in Athens, OH.
