When Dad’s Hair Took Off is a fantastical adventure of Dad’s hair deciding it wants adventures. Dad loves his luscious locks and takes off with a net to bring back the hair that has been with him since he was a baby. Along the way, a lot of hair-like slashes and dashes are mistaken for hair, like grass and the lines on a road. Overall, this is a delightfully quirky tale that gives a hilarious explanation of where Dad’s hair goes when he starts to go bald. My favorite page is when it first happens and the page just says “Horrors!” and has a dramatic expression on Dad’s face. I like the puns at the end of all the postcards Dad receives from his hair’s vacation.
