As an artist myself, I was thrilled to find such a wonderful book geared toward young girls. This is not a frilly little book meant to entertain for a few hours and then discarded when the fun is over. Watercolor Crush actually teaches real artistic techniques that will help a young artist continue to grow and evolve as a truly skilled artist. There is such amazing potential for this book to help nurture real artistic talent. If your child is creative, they truly need books like this to help them realize their full potential.

The drawings included will appeal to the girly girl, but there is also a positive message delivered within the illustrations that encourage and empower girls to dream and strive to experience adventures. I have to give a hearty Bravo to the designers at Klutz for that!

The technical instructions are delivered in brief segments of text that will quickly allow the anxious user to get to the good stuff but still help them absorb the lessons too.

The materials included are quite good, which isn’t always the case with these kinds of books. The paint and paintbrush are just what your little artist needs to get started right away, and the heavy watercolor paper will ensure they keep the paint on the paper. Perforated pages will allow proud parents to frame their child’s masterpieces.

Watercolor Crush is the perfect tool for the budding painter, and the lessons they will learn will keep them creating long after they’ve finished the book.
