REVIEW: Here at Gliterary Girl, we get a little crazy about Divergent, and this story is no exception. Told from Divergent heroine Tris’s love interest’s point of view, “The Transfer,” gives us a glimpse into the beginning stages of a 16-year-old Four’s transformation into the strong, swoon-worthy hero we know and love from the Divergent novels. My only complaint was the brevity! I can’t wait to read the three remaining stories set to be published over the next few months, leading up to the release of the first Divergent film. {insert fangirl squeal}

In April 2012, Author Veronica Roth released the Divergent knife throwing scene in a story called “Free Four” that was told in Four’s point of view. I knew then that I’d be willing to read just about anything from his POV, even if it meant the whole book! Especially if it meant the whole book! I wondered what else Roth might do with this character because Free Four had been so well received. Then along came this series of short stories.

As always, Roth’s characters drew me in, and the writing is fresh and vivid. Learning more about how Tobias became Four was really neat, and I’m definitely looking forward to the other stories, but I’d be lying if I said I don’t hope at some point Roth revisits some of Four’s interactions with Tris from his point of view. We shall see, but until then, I’ll continue gobbling up every scrumptious glimpse at Four Ms. Roth will offer up.
