This book is really dedicated to young ladies that are trying to grow up too fast in the ghetto areas who are trying to make it with what little they have. Like for instance your dad is in jail, your mom turned into a crack addict, and your sisters are in and out of foster homes, and you are just trying to bad all by yourself, but it ends up working out for the worst.

This is the best book I've read in years. This is the only book that you can pick up and read from front to back. Anyone and everyone who was has lived a fast-life can relate. There were no dull moments in this book.

This was a really good book. It never once got dull. This is the first book I've read by Souljah. She really out did herself in this book. She kept everything real. She let you know what goes on in our streets and how if you don't find time to straighten out your act. Then there will be consenquences. I'm looking forward to reading a lot more of Sister Souljah's books. I was very impressed. Keep up the good work my sista.

I thought this book was excellent. I read No Disrespect back in 1995 and I was touched then. Souljah is so honest that the reality hits home in such a hard way that it can leave you mad. I felt as though I was actually living the book while reading it. I agree with the other reviews this needs to be a movie. There are so many talented actors and actresses that it would be a #1 hit. I look forward to here next novel. I hope that a lot f these young people read it and realize the truth.

I gave birth to my daughter in 1993. Before then I read all the time. Once I had her, I felt I no longer had time to read.I went on a very boring assignment and decided to take a book that my mother in law sent my husband almost 2 years before that was never read.

From that day my life has changed. I could not put the book down, and I told everyone that would listen about "the book". When I completed the read, I was thirsty for more. As a result I started a very fulfilling bookclub and I haven't stopped reading yet. Thank you Sister Souljah, for reuniting me with my first love, reading. WHERE IS YOUR WEBSITE SISTER, we are ALL waiting?!

The Coldest Winter Ever, was both riveting and disturbing. Souljah did an excellent job on her first novel. Every chapter kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved this book, it was real, exciting, with a hip-hop flava.

I was never disapointed, nor could I predict Winter's next move. Read it, it will not dissapoint you. Hurray, Souljah, again she truthfull addressing the problems that affect the African-Americn community.

The Coldest Winter Ever proved to the black community what can become of us if we don't all come together as family and uplift and empower each other. We always ask for someone to "keep it real" with us and Sister Souljah did just that.

It was also brilliant how Souljah wrote herself in to the book. You don't really that in novals the names are usually changed and situations are many time watered down. The book is the beast I have read in a very long time. I borrowed and read a friend of mines but I will be getting my own copy for my book case!!

I found this book to be extremely entertaining. It was very heard to put the book down. I felt like Winter was a friend of mine or a little sister. Souljah is a very talented writer.
