Melinda Sordino is the most hated person in her school.Ever since she called the cops on the best party of the year, Melinda has been treated as an outcast in her school , her best friends diched her the new girl , breathing down her neck to fit in , will she finally break her silence and tell what happened that horrible night? Will she finally speak?
This book was really great. Most books have chapters this book has settings. This book is like a play. All of the characters have a part in the book. I really liked Melinda she gets to the point and doesn't spare you the deatials.
Overtall the book was awesome, I loved it! People should read this book for a good read!

This is the story of Melinda.

She is entering the ninth grade, with the wrong clothes, the wrong attitude, and no group of friends. The reason? At the end-of-school party last year, she called the police. Now she is going to a quirky high school, where everyone knows and dispises her. But why did she call the cops?

Even as the story plummets into darkness, it is still told with a funny, amusing voice. Please read this book. The story is true, touching and darkly funny. One of my favourites.

Speak is a wonderful book packed with suspense. Foreshadowing is the best technique used in this story of a girl. Melinda, the main character, is plagued by a horrible secret. She fights pain and horror to admit the truth to everyone. Once she tells someone she realizes the only person she should have told all along is herself.

I think that the author did a good job of showing Melinda’s feelings. Showing Melinda’s feelings helped give the book something to think about. I also think she made the book better by using different things to support what she was writing. I don’t think that the author could have done anything better.

I think that the author’s writing was powerful. It makes you think about things. It also makes you feel things when you read it. I felt bad for Melinda while I was reading the book, and I think that this helped the author show how hard it is if you don’t express your emotions.

I think that this was a really good book. I would recommend it to people who like realistic fiction with realistic problems. I think it would be better for older kids than younger kids because of some scary concepts and moments. Overall, I think that it was a good book and that people would benefit from reading it.

I read this book in high school, and really loved it. It kept me reading the whole time, and I found it really interesting how for so much of the book the reader was left in the dark on so much. The more we learned about the lead character the more we could understand just why she acted how she did. It was emotional and amazing and really made me want to keep reading the whole way through. A great book for young girls about doing what is right, being who they are, and finding true friends!

This book manages to deal with a touchy subject and it does so beautifully. We see the change between Melinda in the beginning to the Melinda in the end.

So Melinda before starting high school went with her friend to a party. There she was raped by a high school boy. Confused and unsure what to do she decided to call the police. The other students find out although they never find out why she called them and what had happened to her. So Melinda begins school in social exile. Her old friends do not speak to her and she is basically a loner who still doesn't speak very much.

This is a beautiful book on the faults that we may have and how sometimes things aren't always as they appear.

The book Speak is a book about a young girl named Melinda who has been deserted by all of her so called "friends" because she called the police about a party that had gotten out of hand over the summer. Melinda is never given the chance by her friends to say who, or what, made her make that call that night over the summer.

Melinda has no friends all because of something that she did last year. She called the police on a high school party and now she has to live with the consequences. The entire school hates her and they don't even know why she called the police. If they knew, everything would be different but for now, Melinda has to get over this out on her own.

Speak was written by Laurie Halse Anderson. It is taught in schools all over the country. Just a few days ago I saw a big stack of these in the back of my English teacher's class room. I bought mine in eighth grade and have loved it ever since. I think that this book is amazing. There aren't really words to describe it. The characters are all so real and interesting and the writing is phenomenal. If you have never read this then I suggest that you do. You'll be so glad that you did.

I really enjoyed Speak. It's a great read and the author doesn't give away what the character went through right away. It's really well written, unlike some young adult novels. Speak is also touching. I think overall it is one of the many teen books with a situation that we, especially girls, could find ourselves in.

This book is about a girl who becomes an outcast after being raped. Everyone thinks she is just a dirty girl. Her bestfriend betrays her, and hates her. This girl is going through a world wind of emotion she keeps to herself. At the end of the book, She finally stands up for herself. I think everyone can relate to this character in some kind of way.
