One of my favorite novels by Sarah Dessen definately related to me and my best friend. Just like these to girls I'm the strong confident friend, and my BFF is the shy friend. Before reading this book i always had no problem having my BFF with her problems but now i se how hard it is for someone with those characteristics to be the brave strong one for once. When Scarlett gets pregnant with a guy who was killed the next day in a motor cyle accident her BFF who is usually the shy one has to step up and be the strong one. Not only is she struggling with that but a new boyfriend who isn't so good for her. I promise you will love this book especially if you have a best friend who is your total opposite!

Halley is the main character in this book. The author takes us threw her crazy life. She is the quiet girl in school thats never really had a boyfriend, but she's a long way from being ugly. While her bestfriend Scarlett is a girl that not is afraid to let loose. Halley's parents are crazy strict. However, Scarlett lives with her mom who is a wild woman. lol. Halley's BFF Scarelett gets pregnant, but the surprisingly sad thing is that Scarlett's boyfriend is killed in a motorcycle accident. This book is about how Halley and Scarlet stick together through Scarlett's pregnancy and this new boy that is falling for Halley. I'll admit it, I want the kind of relationship Halley has with Macon in this story<3
GO READ THIS BOOK.

I loved this book.  It was really able to capture the growing up teenager part and their relationship to their parents.  Bad things happen to a girl and her friend.  Her friend's boyfriend is killed in a motorcycle accident and that begins a journey for the both of them.  The girl is pregnant by the boy, decides to have the baby and keep the baby.  BIG decisions for young girls, but one they can live with, even though it changes their lives for ever.

This is by far my favorite young adult 'best friends' book. I just so amazing. It was my first Dessen book. After I read it, I read the rest of her books. Sarah Dessen is a talented author and easily connects with the her audience. I reccommend this book to anyone because it is a very interesting, sweet, funny page-turner. It is a wonderful book. However, I do not think it is an appropriate "pre-teen" book. Overall, 5 stars! *****/*****

Someone Like You is about the friendship between Halley and Scarlett. After Scarletts boyfriend tragically dies in a motorcycle accident, she needs her best friend more than ever. Especially when she finds out, shortly after his death, that she is carrying his child. However, Halley doesnt know if she can be strong enough to support both herself and Scarlett, especially now that so much is happening in her own life as well.
Sarah Dessen is an amazing author and this is probably her best book! I could really relate to Halley, who is a quiet, shy girl unlike most characters in books. The book also deals with serious topics like teen pregnancy and therefore gives you a lot to think about.

THIS BOOK WAS ABSOULUTLY AMAZING! It was so good! I do not know weather the books are better or the moving, but I do know that this book rocked! (the movie is called something else. I can't remeber it right now) (with mandy moore)!

The first chapter really grabbed me and I was stuck in there until the end. I was really sad when I was done the book becasue I wanted more. So I'm glad that I still have the rest of Sarah Dessen's books to look forward to! I just need to get them first!

I hope you will like is more then I did (actually, no one can like it more then I do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Thank you for writing this book, Sarah Dessen!~

Love... Victoria

Scarlett always took care of Halley but when Scarlett's boyfriend, Michael dies and she finds out she is pregnant, Halley is the one that has to take care of her. Halley starts to go out with Macon, who is pressuring her into having sex. But should she? After what Scarlett is going through?

This book took my breath away! It was great reading about the pressures of sex and the responsibilities of being a best friend. I loved how Scarlett and Halley stayed bestfriends and were always there for each other.

You need to read this book! If not today, then tomorrow!

I read Someone Like You a few years ago, and it always stuck with me. Hally's character was so real, the "good" girl who was just trying to experience her own life, and Scarlett, her strong willed pregnant best friend. It showed growing up in a light that wasn't scornful or biased or glossy - but as something that was confusing, flawed, and still altogther beautiful. Anybody who's going through it knows exactly what Hally is talking about when she talks about doing anything for Macon, being under her mother's thumb, and trying to fill in that outline of herself. This is one of my all time favorite books in the entire WORLD! I can relate some of what is happening to Halley to me, I love this about a book. There are so few books that are so true, captivating, lovable, and have romance. This is one of them. And I would recommend this book to anyone.

Haley and Scarlett have always been best friends and now in their junior year of high school. Halley is the quiet one who always listens to her mother. Scarlet is more outgoing and full of fun.

Scarlet starts dating a boy named Michael. They quickly fall in love until all of a sudden, Michael dies in an accident. Soon, Scarlet discovers she is pregnant with his child.

Halley finds herself liking Macon, Michael's best friend and typical bad boy, and which her family does not approve. Yet she breaks the rules and goes with him.

As Haley deals with her first boyfriend, Scarlett deals with soon being a teenage mother. No matter what, they are always there for each other.

Halley along with her best friend Scarlett start to drift off from who they were, running with the likes of the wild cheerleader Ginny. The separation from of new and old includes dumping of nerdy boyfriend and a meeting with Macon (who her mother forbid her to see). Then Scarlett's boyfriend gets killed in a motorcycle accident, and after two months she discovers that she is pregnant. The two girls turn to each other for support through their rough times, in search of everything they seek in life.

Powerful and embracing, I fell in love with this novel. The coming of age of Halley honestly took my breath away because of all the emotions that Dessen describes so brilliantly. A definite read because of it's deliciousness.
