I have to confess, I do indulge in the frequent romance. And this one might not be any different, but it still deserves credit. If you seriously want a quick read and are bored to death, go ahead. But be warned, it's nothing special

ON YOUR MARK
Natalie Page is overlooked and unappreciated.
Yeah, sure, she can run fast.
Yeah, sure, all the boys love her...as a buddy.
Yeah, she has plans every weekend night...with her friends and their boyfriends.
GET SET
It's time for the world to sit up and take notice. When Natalie makes the varsity cross country team, it seems like the fast track to being cool. The popular girls notice her, the hunky captain of the boys team is giving her rides home. Natalie Page is off and running.
Then she starts to fail geometry. She has to get a tutor: a very annoying boy who thinks sports is for idiots. A very smart boy who thinks she's stupid. A very cute boy who already has a girlfriend and has no interest in her. A boy she told her parents she was dating.
GO!
Natalie Page can run. Now she has to decide how to finish.
This novel by Stephie Davis is not one to miss. A great story with likable characters that will keep you reading more. What more is the delightful gender bending, as implied by the title. The boy being very smart and succeeding in achademics while the female being the star athelete. The author sticks to light subjects, a nice turn of events from the everyday, making it a quick and enjoyable read.

Ok. We've all heard this story before...star athlete falls in love with star athlete, star athelete not doing hot in math, star athlete needs a tutor, tutor is actually a really cute, cocky guy with a girlfriend. So, what happens? Well, you don't need math to figure it out. But, I loved this book. It's the YA kind of book teenage girls love to read (not to mention anybody else who is still young at heart and remembers what a high school crush and romances feels like). One of the things I really enjoy about the novel is the voice of Natalie Page. She is authentic in showing what it feels like to work your way to appreciated status in the high school bureacracy of cliques. Jocks have standards, the brainiacs have standards, but isn't wonderful when the two can sort of mesh? Well, without giving away the ending, you will surely enjoy and reread all the tense, fresh, flirtatious conversation between Natalie and her fake boyfriend, Matt--the supersmart boy who easily grows on any girl with his confidence and cuteability. Smart Boys & Fast Girls make a great team.

Smart Boys and Fast Girls is a really good book. It is about a girl who wants boys to think of her more than just a friend. She meeets a really cute guy at track practice how she thinks might like her back. She begins to get rides home and the team starts to like her. When her math grades start getting lower and she starts failing tests she has two options- one, she can quit the team. and two she can have a math tutor. obviously she choses option two. but she doesnt want her parents to no so she tells them he is her bf. that only makes zack, the track hottie, jealous. when she starts to fall for her tutor she only ends up in a bigger mess of problems. What will she do? This was a really good book. i raced through it almost as fast as she is on the track field!! seriously, read this book. the ending is something youd never imagine!
