Ra Pu Zel is perfect for fans of the classic tale, Rapunzel. I love the vibe of this reimagined folktale now set in China about a Princess who just wanted to stop being scolded and was drawn to the chef who had the most interesting food to offer. Fans of Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith’s The True Story of The Three Little Pigs need to read this story. I loved the illustrations and the quirky personality of the princess that was shown through them. Overall, this was a fun retelling and I like that it included (a non-stinky) recipe in the back for Tofu as well as a bit more information about the inspiration of this story and an explanation of why the Princess is called Pu Zel but the title was Ra Pu Zel for American audiences to better understand.
