MEET THE MUSHROOMS! is a vibrant, rhyming board book. The story features smiling mushrooms in die cut pages alongside a poem about them. The images build on both sides of the book as the pages are turned, exposing different mushrooms and their activities along the way.

What I loved: This is a simple but charming board book. The poem is rhythmic and smooth with a good rhyme that makes it pleasant to listen to and read aloud. The images are colorful, adorable, and include plenty of details for young readers to visually explore. The die-cut pages add to the fun with peek-through mushrooms that move as the pages are turned - and make the pages easier to grab.

This will work well for older infants through preschool aged readers who can enjoy the poem and the fun of joyful mushrooms in a board book format.

What left me wanting more: As a small thing, from the title, I expected there to be some mushroom names or other information about them. This is really just a fictional poem, but it would have been fun to have some mushroom names or information along the way, even if it was just as text on the pages and not part of the main story.

Final verdict: MEET THE MUSHROOMS! is a cute and rhythmic board book that will delight the youngest of readers.
