Robin Hill School: Martin Luther King Jr. Day was a delightful book. Given the title, I assumed the book would be learning more about Dr. King Jr. for beginning readers which would have been a worthy topic by itself. However, a class visit to a local museum where they saw his portrait was the starting point for a class assignment in which the children explored their big dreams. Every dream was relatable and explored complex issues young readers would see and want to improve for a better community and world. Overall, this was an age-appropriate way to explore big dreams for a better world presented in a believable scenario of a follow-up extension project after a field trip. Back Matter provides an age-appropriate mini biography about Martin Luther King Jr. for bonus content. Overall, this is a great ready-to-read book that would be a wonderful way to invite the reader into a discussion about their dreams for a better world
