LITTLE KIDS FIRST BOARD BOOK: BIRDS is a great first introduction to all things birds. As young children will see birds around in their daily lives, this board book gives them additional context to their everyday lives that is sure to appeal. The book shows a different type of bird on each page along with a basic piece of information that is then expanded into how it relates to other birds. For instance, it says, "The toucan grabs fruit with its beak," and then tells that all birds have beaks that they use to eat.

What I loved: This is such a fun read about birds that is great for young children who are starting to observe the world around them and become curious. The book features photographs of real animals along with their actions and basic facts about birds that will give them a lot to learn. Beyond the photographs, the book uses bright colors and large fonts to promote early reading recognition. The end of the book also includes some actions children can do, such as "chirp at the bird with blue feathers," for some interactive fun to end the educational read. The board book format works well along with the simple text, bright colors, and photographs to appeal to the youngest readers.

Final verdict: A colorful and educational board book, this is a great pick for toddlers who are curious about the world around them. Recommend picking this up to begin learning about birds!
