Hi, YABC!

Today we’re super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for THE SECRET SIDE OF EMPTY by Maria E. Andreu, releasing September 1, 2015 from Running Press. Before we get to the cover, here’s a note from Maria:

YABC Readers!  I’m so excited to share the paperback cover for THE SECRET SIDE OF EMPTY.  I thought I couldn’t love a cover more than that of the hardcover edition of TSSoE.  I was wrong!  I think this paperback cover so perfectly encapsulates the mood of the book and the red, white and blue gives a subtle hint at the conflict.  Plus it’s nice to have a bit of history when a cover is revealed so that you can “show off” some of the nice awards and reviews. It’s always a little nerve-wracking to let go and trust when something as personal as YOUR book cover is being designed without YOU (in retrospect, thank goodness for that).  But as soon as I saw this I knew that the team at Running Press completely “got” the story.

I am SO excited to share this cover with you.  Please enter to win a signed copy!

What do you think about the cover and the synopsis?

The cover is absolutely gorgeous! The design is amazing and the typography of the cover is very Minimal , which I really love and it really captures my attention and every YA Book Lovers in the world because I am a certified Young Adult Book Lover! And I really want to have this book and do book reviews on it! As I reviewed on the detail of this book , is .. it is all about this girl named M.T or Monserrat Thalia who is a senior student and her school , National Honor Society which is wants her to plan their trip abroad . And in M.T’s mind she can’t go to college and her family life unraveling . She is staring down a future that seems empty . But in the end , M.T should have faith on herself to get the meaning of life and believe on herself what she wanted to be .

  4. Marianne Lavergne says:

The synopsis is really vague, so I’m intrigued: s she illegal because she’s an immigrant or a clone or a cyborg or blond? The cover looks freaking amazing I love the way the letters are.

  5. Kushnoda says:

What do you think aboit the civer and the synopsis ?

The cover looks very interesting. The book is very colorful and it is a type of book that catches your attention when you go out to the bookstore. It looks very intereting. The books title talks about secrets which is the type of books i read, ill definetely give it a try !

  6. Mehwish says:

It’s especially intriguing! The font fits well with the rest of the cover. The cover’s photo and coloring are beautiful.

  7. Susan T. says:

The cover is intriguing but the synopsis is pretty general so it’s hard to tell what it is about. Maybe about fitting in?

  8. Danielle D. says:

The book sounds good, I’d like to know more about it though. The covers great, I love how they used the font on it 😀

    beautiful cover

  16. Lillian says:

The cover is interesting. I had trouble reading it at first, I though that it said “evity” instead of “empty” lol. The synopsis doesn’t describe the book much, but I’m interested in reading about the problems Hispanic immigrants face so I think I’ll enjoy this book.

  17. Michelle R says:

  20. Shari Putnam says:

    Looks awesome!

  21. Hayley Cosgrove says:

The minimal info in the synopsis could be either good or bad, making a reader want to know the details, or making the reader question whether or not they would be interested. The cover is super cool, I had a bit of a hard time reading Empty at first, but now I can see it clearly.

  22. The cover is awesome. I love these books, the ones that really deal with pertinent issues like immigration. Having just finished Joyride by Anna Banks, I’m in the mood for this!

  23. Dan Denman says:

I like the lettering on the cover. The synopsis is very interesting.

  24. Cindy says:

The cover is… okay, but I really like the synopsis!
