I want to pre-face this review by saying that I read this book to my five year old son.. because it is NEVER too early for children, males included, to know that women do amazing things; always have, always will. Not that my son can't, or won't, do amazing things as well... it was so nice to read him a book that focused on strictly female accomplishments.

Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: Baby's First Book of Extraordinary Women was a delight to read.
The text is easy to read. They kept the wording simple for young children to understand, while still being able to convey that these women did amazing things.

I greatly enjoyed the fact that there were many lesser known inspirational women in this book, some I had never heard of, myself. I also liked that they included more recent inspirational women.

The illustrations are vibrant and well done. Each portrait includes things that represent what each inspirational woman was known for. We also loved looking for the little rocket ship hidden on each page.

This is the perfect introductory for younger children, and if read to older children (like I did) it makes for a great conversation starter and lesson. The durable board book makes it an great addition to your toddlers library.
