This is a fast-paced and exciting book, that also allows room for relationships and character development. The bond between Signa and Blythe really changes a lot in the story, and Grace provides a perspective from both of them so we can get insight into what each of them are thinking and feeling. This is compared to the antagonistic brotherly relationship between Fate and Death, as well as the romance that fully blooms between Death and Signa.

There is an intimate scene portrayed in the book, and the age recommendation is appropriate here (17+). There’s only one character of color in the story, and she’s a side character.

Overall, this is a story that is worth the time. It’s full of unpredictable plot twists that make it exciting to read. The world-building is excellent, described so vividly it’s easy to picture the settings and outfits in detail. But most importantly, the character development and the plot are what kept me reading.
