This is such a great book for children just getting into maps, whether it be creating or reading them!

The visuals are fantastic! I really liked how there were different textures and types of illustrations; this added an interesting feel to the book.

The story itself is simple and cute. The two friends leaving their homes and recording what they pass along the way, until the meet up in the middle.
The author presents simple, relatable places children could create maps from, like their bedroom or local park.

Footsteps on the Map is an awesome resource for young students beginning to learn maps and where they are in the world.
