BABY'S FIRST BEDTIME is a cute lift-the-flap board book that takes children around to bedtime for sleepy baby animals. Owl and her babies are traveling around and seeing who is asleep inside various animal homes, such as a kennel (dog and her puppies) and a hutch (rabbit and her kits). Each page features a double flap with a smaller flap to peek at the baby animals before the larger flap reveals them all.

What I loved: This is a cute and simple concept of a bedtime board book. The flaps are really great, very thick and built in that will stand up to even tough readers. The baby animals are also really cute, and readers can see them sleeping and are told to say goodnight to each of them. Colorful and detailed illustrations will add to the fun. I also appreciated that some of the animals are fathers and other mothers, giving a blend of parents with their babies. The board book pages are nice and thick, easy for little fingers to turn and explore. A simple bedtime story will work well for infants and toddlers.

What left me wanting more: As a small thing, some of the font is black on darker colors, making it tough to read in lowlight such as at bedtime. It would have been helpful to flip to a light or white color so that they would be easy to read throughout.

Final verdict: A simple and sweet bedtime board book, BABY'S FIRST BEDTIME is a cute lift-the-flap story featuring baby animals to find that will work well for infants and toddlers.
