this book was very good and i think that any reader with an open mid should enjuy it. if you ahve the desire to travel abroad or if you like thingk about faraway places then you should definetly read this book.
the author does a great job of portraying the average teenagers life even though most dont go on scavenger humt throughout europe.

13 little blue envelopes was a very interesting book. i loved the way the author described the places when Ginny gets to each place. the way Paris and Rome was described painted an exotic picture in my mind while i read it. i wish i had money to hop on a plane and fly to either place! It was really romantic when Keith showed up. i wish that there was a sequel to this great book.

Ginny receives a pack of letters and some money from her now deceased Aunt. Her Aunt wants her to open only one letter at a time and do/go what/where they tell her. Ginny is soon launched into a series of adventures that she will never forget...


This book is a funny and entertaining novel. Throughout the whole novel you will find yourself guessing at the purpose of all the envelopes. The end of the book was a little unsatisfactory but it couldn't have ended any other way. It was a great read!

This was a good book. She gets an envelope and it tells her where to go to get her next clue. I thought this book would be dull, but it kept me reading till it was finished. I can't believe someone would actually make sure they completed a task before they continued on with their journey. I would be so scared! READ IT!!!

Ginny's aunt has died. But she's left something behind. 13 Little Blue Envelopes-each sets a task and the next should not be opened until the task is complete. The story is hilarious and entertaining. You will wish that her adventures would never end. While the ending isn't entirely satisfying it is the right ending for the book.

Maureen Johnson's writes the books excellently and Ginny is a believable character.

Ginny's aunt leaves her 13 little blue envelopes. the first tells her to take a plane to england with no guidebooks allowed. (I have no idea how she convinced her parents!) the rest is even crazier and well worth the read!
The first time I read this book I wasn't to happy with it because I knew Maureen Johnson's books were always good!(always!)The second time I read it I liked it so much more, I don't know why!

This book is about Ginny who's Aunt peg has died. Aunt Peg wanted Ginny to have a Adventure so she mailed her a package cantaing 13 little blue envelopes. The insurntecs say she has to read one at a time and complete the task -in tne letter- before opening the next. So, Ginny is of to Europe. This trip changes her life forever. You should defintely read this book!

13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson was great. It is labeled a YA book, as it should be, and I really enjoyed the story. The plot line was unique and the characters refreshing. Definitely a good "light" book.

Ginny's favorite aunt, who happened to be the most eccentric women Ginny knew, passes away and shortly after, a package arrives for Ginny containing 13 blue envelopes. In the first envelope, Ginny is instructed to purchase a plane ticket to London and then open her second envelope. The reader proceeds to follow Ginny on a spontaneous journey around Europe that interlopes her with people in her aunt's life, resulting in a love interest, the meeting of a new family member, scary hostels, and loads of interesting adventures.

Ginny shows the reader that even when we are frightened, it's still ok to take risks, simply because you never can tell what you'll find out when you're finished. Ginny was not only able to tour Europe and meet interesting people, she also overcame a lot of her fears and learned a lot about her aunt in the process. A really great book for teens or even mature middle schoolers.

Romantic, interesting, tender, and enviable: Ginny Blackstones journey of geographical and self discoveries in 13 LITTLE BLUE ENVELOPES is one that we all dream of. Who wouldnt want to be sent on a backpacking trip across Europe and do things weve never thought we were capable of doing?

Ginnys free-spirited artist aunt, Peg, died from a brain tumor. After Pegs death, a package containing 13 sealed blue envelopes is delivered to Ginny. They send her on various missions across the seas in foreign lands. All of a sudden, Ginny finds herself lugging a heavy purple-and-green backpack onto a plane and into the London flat of a man named Richard. Pegs instructions in the envelopes further mess with Ginnys once passive existence as they instruct her to, for example, find a struggling artist whose work she admires to give money to. How does Aunt Peg seem to know that Keith, the artist Ginny chose, would be so cute and steal her heart like that?

Despite the crazy, un-Ginny-like adventures shes having, Ginny still has doubts every once in a while of what the heck exactly is she doing in Europe. Will Ginny ever come to terms with the fact that she IS capable of everything her aunt had once done?

13 LITTLE BLUE ENVELOPES is more than a fun ride through several European countries. Its a journey of self-discovery for Ginny, as a shy girl learns exactly what she is capable of. For those of us who do not have a wild aunt who will send us on an adventure through Europe, we can live through Ginny. I have read this book twice, and both times I could not put it down, preferring to lose sleep rather than wonder about what happens to Ginny.

When her Aunt Peg dies of a brain tumor, she leaves in Ginnys possession thirteen envelopes, all of which she must open one at a time. Armed with a ticket to London and a list of rules, Ginny starts on an adventure across Europe, one that is reminiscent to the kind of adventures her Aunt Peg had when she was alive: one with no planning whatsoever, with only the promise of a fun-filled future.

Along the way, Ginny discovers new friends, new cities, and a new love. It is a book I truly enjoyed, and definitely not a disappointment after reading Johnsons The Key to the Golden Firebird.
